Governor Greg Abbott said Representative Jasmine Crocketts comments at the weekend highlighted the depth of the problems Democrats are facing.
Its another day and another disaster by the Democrats, he told Foxs Hannity.
The reality is they have no vision, no policy. They have nothing to sell but hate, and Americans are not buying it.
Crockett was speaking at a Human Rights Campaign dinner in Los Angeles when she referred to Abbott as Governor Hot Wheels - attracting shocked laughter from the crowd.
Yall know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there, cmon now, and the only thing hot about him is that hes a hot a** mess, honey, she told the cheering audience.
Abbott said it was comments like these which would hold Democrats back as they look to reinvent themselves following Kamala Harris loss to Donald Trump.
Trump holds a majority in both houses, having won the popular vote and the electoral college.

He intends to introduce a censure resolution against Crockett for her venomous rhetoric, he told Fox.
Abbott was left paralyzed from the waist down when he was just 26 years old, when a tree fell on top of him as he was jogging.
At the time, he was a recent law school graduate and studying to take the bar exam.
While campaigning for governor, Abbott shed new light on his condition, and how overcoming his circumstances had made him a better politician.
Through this experience, Governor Abbott learned that our lives aren’t defined by our challenges, his campaign team said at the time.
Instead, we define our lives by how we respond to those challenges. His triumph over tragedy shows that Governor Greg Abbott doesn’t back down from challenges, but uses his lessons in perseverance to overcome them.
While some politicians talk about having a spine of steel, Governor Abbott actually has one.
