Hunter Bidens legal team has issued a stark warning that Donald Trump would seek retribution against him a day before Joe Biden issued a pardon to include potential crimes.
The threat against Hunter is real after Trump was elected for a second term in office, Hunter Bidens lawyers claimed in a report released on Saturday, a day before his father pardoned him after long pledging he wouldnt do so.
The sweeping pardon covers not only Hunter Bidens convictions in two cases in Delaware and California for gun and tax convictions, but also any other offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024.
Hunter Bidens legal team released a 52-page white paper titled The political prosecutions of Hunter Biden on Saturday, describing the presidents son as a surrogate to attack and injure his father, both as a candidate in 2020 and later as president.
This is a seven-year saga propelled by an unrelenting political desire to use a son to hurt his father, one of Bidens lawyers, Abbe Lowell, said, the Washington Post reports.
His lawyers have argued that with Trumps inauguration in January looming, some of the same Republicans who targeted Hunter prepare to resume power and have stated their intention to use the governments vast power to pursue their perceived enemies.
Hunter Biden could have faced years in jail had his father not pardoned him - for crimes ordinary citizens would not be prosecuted for, according to his lawyers.
The younger Bidens lawyers have long argued that prosecutors bowed to political pressure to indict the presidents son amid heavy criticism by Trump and other Republicans of what they called the sweetheart plea deal.

This argument has been repeated by President Biden, who in his pardon statement raged against several of my political opponents in Congress who he claimed made the charges a public spectacle to attack me and oppose my election.
Biden had said as recently as June that he would not pardon his son, unlike Trump who has outright said he wants to pardon January 6 rioters.
From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Departments decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted, Biden said in a statement.
Donald Trump signaled Sunday night that he intends to use Bidens pardon of his son to his own advantage, linking it to his own prospective controversial pardon of January 6 defendants.
Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years? Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice! Trump wrote, in his first public comment since Biden announced the pardon.
Hunter Biden was convicted in June of lying on a federal form when he purchased a gun in 2018 and swore that he wasnt a drug user.
Just months later, he pleaded guilty to charges accusing him of a scheme to avoid paying at least $1.4 million in taxes.
Prosecutors alleged he lived lavishly while flouting the tax law, spending his cash on things like strippers and luxury hotels - in short, everything but his taxes.

Both cases stemmed from a period in Hunter Bidens life in which he struggled with drug and alcohol abuse before becoming sober in 2019.
His lawyers addressed this in Saturdays statement, saying that Hunter Biden was facing significant sentences for felonies and misdemeanors far beyond precedents of others committing less serious offenses or where civil resolutions or consent judgments are normally sought for mistakes made while in the throes of serious drug addiction.
After the gun trial aired salacious and unflattering details about Hunter Bidens life, the presidents son said he agreed to plead guilty to the tax charges to spare his family another embarrassing criminal trial.
The tax trial was also expected to showcase details about Hunter Bidens foreign business dealings, which Republicans have seized on to try to paint the Biden family as corrupt.
Hunter Biden was supposed to be sentenced this month in the two cases by judges in California and Delaware who were nominated to the bench by Trump.
Special counsel David Weiss office had not said whether prosecutors had planned to seek prison time.
The tax charges carried up to 17 years behind bars and the gun charges were punishable by up to 25 years in prison, though federal sentencing guidelines were expected to call for far less time and it was possible the younger Biden would have avoided prison time entirely.
Hunter Biden himself struck a note of contrition in a statement and promised to help those sick and suffering after his father gave him a presidential pardon.

I have admitted and taken responsibility for my mistakes during the darkest days of my addiction - mistakes that have been exploited to publicly humiliate and shame me and my family for political sport, he said.
Despite all of this, I have maintained my sobriety for more than five years because of my deep faith and the unwavering love and support of my family and friends.
Republicans accused President Biden of lying and corruption after the presidents stunning Sunday night reversal to pardon Hunter Biden.
One of the first to fire off a furious statement was Kentucky GOP Rep. James Comer, who was among the leading advocates in Congress for going after Hunter, and among those who Biden may have had in mind when he complained that his political opponents in Congress instigated the charges against Hunter attack me and oppose my election.
Joe Biden has lied from start to finish about his family’s corrupt influence peddling activities, wrote Comer in a post on X.
Not only has he falsely claimed that he never met with his son’s foreign business associates and that his son did nothing wrong, but he also lied when he said he would not pardon Hunter Biden.
The charges Hunter faced were just the tip of the iceberg in the blatant corruption that President Biden and the Biden Crime Family have lied about to the American people. It’s unfortunate that, rather than come clean about their decades of wrongdoing, President Biden and his family continue to do everything they can to avoid accountability.
Some of those allegations, including Hunters generous board position for Burisma and other globetrotting deals, though probed by the House GOP and prosecutors over a period of years, did not result in charges. House Republicans also shelved their impeachment inquiry.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who is 91 and served decades with Biden, expressed frustration with the president - and himself.
I’m shocked Pres Biden pardoned his son Hunter bc he said many many times he wouldn’t & I believed him Shame on me, Grassley wrote on X.
But the deeper cut came from a prominent member of Bidens own party.
Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, a Democrat, ripped Bidens lame duck decision and accused the chief of his party of putting family ahead of the country.
While as a father I certainly understand President @JoeBiden’s natural desire to help his son by pardoning him, I am disappointed that he put his family ahead of the country, Polis wrote.
This is a bad precedent that could be abused by later Presidents and will sadly tarnish his reputation.
Polis endorsed Biden in 2020 and even held back when there were early calls for Biden to step aside after his debate disaster.
