Terrifying moment helicopter crashed in Brazil killing two and injuring another

Incredible footage shows the moment a helicopter crashed in Brazil on Monday, leaving two pilots dead and the aircraft owner fighting for his life.

The helicopter was performing a flight test after undergoing maintenance and was flying from Oscar Laranjeiras Airport in Caruaru, Pernambuco to the rural town of Guabiraba, also located in Pernambuco.

A surveillance camera showed the aircraft flying at a low altitude when it suddenly began to dive and made contact with the ground in a forest and began to burst in flames.

The bodies of pilots André Ferreira and Raildo Rodrigues were found charred, the Caruaru Health Department said in a statement.

The helicopter took off from Oscar Laranjeiras Airport in Caruaru, Pernambuco and was traveling to to the rural town of Guabiraba, also located in Pernambuco when it crashed with three people on board. Two pilots were killed while the owner survived

Businessman, 41-year-old Henrique Santos, was rushed to Santa Efigênia Hospital, where he received treatment for burns to 90 percent of his body.

Santos was intubated and placed in an induced comma, his wife Drycka Cunha said on social medal. He has been treated for pneumonia due to the inhalation of smoke.

His friend, lawyer Geraldo Santos, told Folha de Pernambuco newspaper that he jumped and landed in bushes just moments before the helicopter crashed.

There is a video that we believe was the moment he jumped. I think he must have been about 10 meters (32 feet) high, Geraldo Santos said.

DailyMail.com reviewed footage of the crash, but it was difficult to determine if Henrique Santos had leaped from the helicopter.

Separate video footage showed the aircraft covered in flames while Henrique Santos, whose burns were visible, was standing near the debris and talking to residents, who rushed to render assistance before first responders arrived on the scene

He is taking a cocktail of antibiotics due to the infection from the burns, Geraldo Santos said. Tomorrow he will undergo new surgery to remove some of the burned parts and clean them.

Investigators were dispatched Tuesday to Caruaru to collect data 

Doctors will then determine if Henrique Santos, who owns a livestock farm and an online store that sells wild and exotic pets, will be transferred to a medical facility in his hometown of Recife, the capital of Pernambuco.

Pernambuco Military Fire Department Mayor André Pereira told TV Asa Branca that the fire was controlled within 20 minutes of their arrival.

The National Civil Aviation Agency dispatched investigators from the Second Regional Service for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents to investigate the crash site on Tuesday and recover data.

Specific techniques are used in Data Collection, conducted by qualified and accredited personnel who collect and confirm data, preserve the elements, perform the initial verification of damage caused to the aircraft, or by the aircraft, and collect other information necessary for the investigation, the Brazilian Air Force said in a statement.
