Terrifying moment 13-year-old is thrown from ride at theme park and swung around as he frantically tries to hold on

A theme park attraction left a 13-year-old with multiple fractures after jettisoning him from his seat.  

The teenager was a passenger on the Pendulum 360° ride when the incident took place. 

The thrill seekers completed a full loop and slowed down at the top, leaving the riders suspended upside down as intended. 

However as the gondola started to fall to earth, the boy has clearly slipped from his seat and can be seen dangling on to a bar for dear life as the ride continues rotating. 

The scene was caught on camera by one of the park goers at Jatim Park in Batu, Indonesia on April 8 of this year. 

The boy fell from a height of around one and a half to two metres, NeedToKnow reported.

He was rushed to hospital where he was found to have suffered two fractures to his right hand and one to his right leg.

Police ordered the theme park to temporarily suspend operations of the Pendulum ride.

The attraction, in park one of the Jawa Timur Park - commonly known in Indonesia as Jatim Park, bills itself as an adrenaline-pumping ride which lets the passenger feel how it feels to be spun around 360 degrees. 

The boy had visited the theme park with three friends, with the accident taking place around 4pm. 

AKP Rudi Kuswoyo, head of the Batu Police Criminal Investigation Unit, said that before the ride operated, staff ran the required security checks, including checking the condition of the seat belts, and that they worked correctly.

Rudi confirmed that seat fives belt had been checked before it suddenly malfunctioned.

As of April 18, Rudi revealed that the investigation into the cause of the incident was still ongoing.

The teenager was treated for his injuries and is currently recovering.
