Spirit Airlines passengers freak out after noticing unwanted traveler onboard flight from Dallas to Los Angeles

Passengers on board a Spirit Airlines flight from Dallas to Los Angeles were shocked to find an unaccompanied and unwanted traveler was sitting right above their heads.

One eagle-eyed customer noticed a pair of tiny claws and a tail in the ceilings lighting panel of the airbus A320 aircraft, which houses essential electric wiring.

It was a case if blink and you miss it as the rodent appeared to quickly scuttle away seconds after it was noticed by the passenger sitting towards the rear of the aircraft on the three hour long flight to the west coast. 

Footage of the shocking incident showing the silhouette moving inside was captured on cellphone video and posted to social media where it has received more than 2 million views, together with some amusing comments.

Somebody would have had to tell me whats up there, were not about to just keep flying while something is crawling on top of my head, read one Instagram comment.

Its not known which specific flight the spine-tingling scene was spotted.

The airline responded to the unsettling footage in a statement: We are aware of the video and are taking steps to address this matter, Spirit Airlines said.
