Ronald Reagans staff claim they know who he would have voted for in 2024 as they make shock endorsement

A group of alumni who worked in the Reagan administration revealed in a surprise move that they are endorsing Kamala Harris for president over Donald Trump and even said they believe their late boss would also support the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee.

A group of alumni who worked in the Reagan administration revealed in a surprise move that they are endorsing Kamala Harris for president over Donald Trump and even said they believe their late boss would also support the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee.

The announcement from the group of more than a dozen Reagan officials and staffers is the latest in a series of endorsements by Republican and former GOP officials for the vice president.

In their endorsement letter, the group noted that President Reagan famously spoke of a Time for Choosing.

While he is not here to experience the current moment, we who worked for him in the White House, in the Administration, in campaigns and on his personal staff, know he would join us in supporting the Harris -Walz ticket, they wrote.

The Reagan alumni stated the time for choosing we face today is a choice between integrity and demagoguery, and the choice must be Harris-Walz.

Their letter argued the choice was between truth and lies, freedom and suppression of freedom, and serving the people and serving the few.

Some of the Reagan officials who came out in support of the Democratic presidential nominee include Ken Adelman who served as Reagans U.S. ambassador, Deputy Assistant to the President for Communications Elizabeth Board, White House Social Secretary Gahl Burt, Deputy Assistant to the President B. Jay Cooper and others.

The list of former Reagan officials also includes Pete Souza who served as official White House Photographer for Reagan as well as President Obama. Souza has long been a vocal critic of Trump.

Our votes in this election are less about supporting the Democratic Party and more about our resounding support for democracy, they said.

They wrote that they hope their letter will signal to other Republicans and former Republicans that supporting the Democratic ticket this year is the only path forward toward an America that is strong and viable for our children and grandchildren for years to come.

A Pew Research Survey last year found Republicans view Reagan as the best recent president just beating out Trump.

But earlier this year, Reagans own daughter Patti Davis said she doubts her father would want to be associated with todays Republican Party.

The endorsement by the Reagan alum comes after a series of other former Republican administration officials and prominent GOP lawmakers have come out against the ex-presidents bid for a second term in office.

Most notably, former GOP Vice President Dick Cheney recently revealed he would be casting his ballot for Harris.

The former vice president who served under President George W Bush wrote there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump.

Days earlier, his daughter former Wyoming Congresswoman and longtime Trump critic Liz Cheney also endorsed the vice president.

I don’t believe that we have the luxury of writing in candidates’ names, particularly in swing states, Cheney said.

Separately, more than 230 Republicans who worked for prominent Republicans President George W Bush, late Senator John McCain and Senator Mitt Romney also endorsed Harris last month.

The Harris campaign and Democrats have been actively courting Republicans as they work to cut into Trumps margins.

During their convention, a series of prominent Republicans and even former Trump White House officials took the stage to share why they were voting for the Democratic nominee.

The campaign has also launched Republicans for Harris and have been doing outreach to former Nikki Haley voters since the Republican primary season as the work to build a coalition for November.
