In a statement on the salacious claims, 59-year-old Green said on Friday: This is a difficult time for my family and me, and we are currently going through divorce proceedings.
As this is a deeply private matter, I ask for privacy. I will continue to serve this district with all I’ve got, as I have the last five and a half years.
The allegations surfaced in a message on a group chat sent by Greens estranged wife that has been seen by DailyMail.com and since shared around Capitol Hill.
In the messages she said shed tried to reconcile their marriage, but the Congressman wanted nothing to do with it.
