The Labour politicians public LinkedIn profile had previously stated that Ms Reeves worked as an economist for the Bank of Scotland between 2006 and 2009.
However, amid accusations that she had lied about her qualifications on her CV, the profile was updated to read that the Chancellor has been involved in retail banking at Halifax.
The blame for this error has now been placed on an unnamed member of the Chancellors staff, according to a source close to Ms Reeves.
On Friday, the i newspaper reported that Ms Reevess CV contained an exaggerated claim around her position at the Halifax group and stated that she had actually been working across their customer relations and mortgage divisions.
Ms Reeves actual roles during this period were reportedly head of planning, customer relations and head of customers, mortgages.
Prior to joining Halifax, Ms Reeves worked at the Bank of England for over half a decade, but further questions over that portion of her career history have also begun to emerge.
Whilst in opposition to the previous Conservative government during her time as Shadow Chancellor, Ms Reeves made the claim that she had worked at the bank for a decade.

Her LinkedIn CV - which had previously said that she was an economist at the Bank of Scotland has now been updated to say she was in Retail Banking, the Guido Fawkes political website noted
This was a falsehood perpetuated by the Labour Party itself, who claimed Ms Reeves had worked at the Bank of England for the best part of a decade.
In reality, the current Chancellor had spent 18 months of her six year stint on a secondment at the US Embassy.
She began her time at the bank as a London School of Economics Masters student.
Further queries have since followed around the superiority of her previous roles.
Ms Reeves has previously claimed in multiple social media posts that she is a former Bank of England economist.
However, old tweets from 2012 have surfaced in which the Chancellor described herself as a very junior Japan analyst.
These allegations over the credibility of Ms Reevess CV have once more brought the current Labour governments controversy-laden first five months in power to the fore.
The Shadow Paymaster General, Richard Holden, wrote to the Chancellor earlier this week asking her to shed light on the matter of her previous job titles.
Mr Holden also queried whether Ms Reeves would release a full, unedited CV, and added that the allegations that your CV might not be accurate are incredibly serious.
(They) would raise significant concerns about your ability to be honest with the British public, concerns which your Budget has already raised.
The Labour Party has been contacted to provide comment.
