A clip of a five-year-old girl spinning her screaming pet cat through the air by its hind legs as her mother laughed behind the camera has sparked horror online.
Grazyna Rogowska, from Poland, caused uproar after posting footage on social media of her young daughter throwing the kitten called Kasper into a ball pit as disco music plays in the background.
The video then cuts to show the young girl grabbing the black-and-white kitten by its hind legs and spinning round in dizzying circles, flinging the writhing cat through the air as it wails in distress.
Meanwhile Rogowska, who is now facing up to five years in jail, can be heard giggling in the background as she filmed the cruel act.
Police said that Kasper, is now in the care of a shelter, also had ‘traces of some substance on his fur, possibly glue, and it is visible that the fur was trimmed with scissors.
‘In our opinion, he could weigh a bit more.’
The video which was posted on TikTok at the end of March has since gone viral with furious viewers demanding justice for the cat.
But now Rogowska has said she is the victim after being inundated with hate mail.

In one message posted on TikTok over the top of her daughter, Rogowska said: ‘It’s possible that I won’t see her because of you, because I can end up in prison and she in a social welfare centre.
‘Please don’t comment anymore. I don’t understand why there are so many bad comments, and the police are also f****** stupid.
‘I said it was fun. My daughter is now crying so much she won’t eat. I hope justice catches up with you because she will have trauma because of you.’
In another message posted along with a cheerful pop song, the woman wrote: ‘Tomorrow we will know what will happen to me and my daughter, pray for me.’
In response, one social media user wrote: ‘Grazyna is now crying on tiktok that her child is crying about the cat. Very f****** good.
‘She will have a lifelong lesson on how not to treat animals.
‘Additionally, the Ministry of Justice should introduce a register of people punished for crimes against the life and health of animals.’
Police spokeswoman Ewa Golińska-Jurasz said: ‘The police have been notified of threats against a woman and a child.
‘They concern deprivation of life and health. We are currently investigating the circumstances of this report.’
The cat has since been removed from Rogowskas home and placed in a shelter in Wysock Wielki, Poland.
The shelter vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed the cat upon arrival, after finding old glue in his fur and two large chunks of hair cut out.
Our entire shelter team will do everything to ensure Kacperek regains peace, health and sense of security, the shelter wrote on Facebook last month.
