The aircrafts crashed into each other around 9.47am at Minden-Tahoe Airport, almost a month after another collision claimed someones life during takeoff at the same landing strip.
Authorities responded to the scene after one of the single-engine planes landed at the airport, while the other crashed into a field near Highway 395, according to the Douglas County Sheriffs Office.
The Federal Aviation Admiration (FAA) said one of the aircrafts, a Globe GC-1B, had one passenger on board, while the other, a Cessna 206, had two.
The pilot and passenger in that plane were reported safe without injuries while the single passenger died after crashing in a nearby field.
Those involved have not yet been identified. It is unclear what caused the fatal crash.

Witnesses reported that the Globe GC-1B caught on fire in the air before crashing, according to Sheriff Dan Coverley.
The aircraft was still engulfed in flames when emergency personnel arrived, Coverley added.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have taken over the investigation.
The NTSB told News 4 an investigator will examine the aircraft and document the scene.
The agency will also request weather information, radar data, the pilots medical records and maintenance records.
The preliminary report of the crash is expected to be available in 30 days while a final report will be completed in 12-24 months.

The Minden-Tahoe Airport closed after the crash but has since re-opened.
DailyMail.com contacted the FAA, National Transportation Safety Board and the Douglas County Sheriffs Office for comment.
Another person died at the airport on August 20 around 8.19am after an experimental plane with two people onboard crashed during takeoff, according to the Douglas County Sheriffs Office.
The aircraft was an amateur-built Lockwood AirCam, the NTSB said at the time.
The airport was closed after the crash and the cause of the collision is unknown. The deceased passenger has not been identified.
On September 8, an aviation-obsessed teen, her mom, and a high school teacher who had been teaching her how to fly were among four killed in a private airplane crash in Vermont.

Paul Pelletier, 55, Frank Rodriguez, 88, Susan Van Ness, 51, and her daughter Delilah Van Ness, 15, were named as victims in the crash - all residents of Connecticut.
The plane left Connecticuts Windham Airport around 8:30am before landing in Vermont two hours later for a brunch reservation. They dined at an upscale eatery in Basin Harbor, with plans to return that day.
When they didnt, families reported them missing, leading to the plane being discovered the following morning in a wooded area to the east of the Basin Harbor Airport. The airport is set right next to the resort where the four had just eaten.
Licensed pilot Pelletier taught aerospace and manufacturing at Middletown High, where Delilah had been his student, the school said in a statement.
A family member told cops how the girl had been receiving flying lessons from Pelletier, while Rodriguez, a pilot as well, was there to accompany them. It remains unclear who had been piloting the four-person craft.
