Jefferson County Sheriffs Office confirmed through medical and dental records that the skeletal remains discovered by a Frissell Road homeowner in a wooded area September 28 belonged to Emily Strite.
Strite, 34, went missing in the De Soto area on April 12 and her friends said she was in and out of an abusive relationship with her youngest childrens father, according to Fox 2 Now.
Investigators have not determined the mother-of-fours cause of death and are working to learn more about her disappearance.
Police were alerted about the human remains by an unidentified property owner, the department said in a press release.
Her body showed no signs of foul play, Jefferson County Sheriffs Office Public Safety Information Coordinator, Grant Bissell, told Newsweek.
No one has been arrested for her death or disappearance as of Wednesday.

Strikes mother, Charlyn McCain, has asked people to avoid the area where Emily was recovered as the investigation continues, she pleaded in a Facebook post.
Strike was last seen at a friends house on 4th Street, where she was staying. She left the residence on foot, according to the Missing Persons flyer. She was reported missing eight days after she was last seen.
The last time McCain spoke with her daughter, she had her mother she was going to see her three youngest children, who live with their father in Illinois.
However, a week later, the childrens father, Steve Fults, called McCain and asked if she had heard from Strite, who he said never told him she was coming to see her children.
