Troy Andrew Smith, 49, originally from Port Lincoln in South Australia, and his new wife were on their honeymoon when local police raided their room at the Champlung Mas Hotel resort in Legian on April 30.
Officers found 3.19g of methamphetamine concealed inside a Colgate toothpaste container.
Smith who is an accountant, spent two months in custody before he appeared in Denpasar District Court in July, where his legal team successfully argued Smith was a drug addict.
A panel of judges sentenced him to six months rehabilitation at Anargya Sober House in Bali.
Smith has since completed his rehabilitation and left Indonesia.
John McLeod, the fixer who previously worked to help free Schapelle Corby from jail issued a statement on Smiths behalf on Thursday night.
He deeply regrets his poor decisions and offers sincere apologies to the Indonesian and Australian communities and his family, friends and partner, the statement read.

Smith and his new wife Nigerian-born Tracy Ijusa were one week into their extended honeymoon in Bali when Indonesian police raided their resort room.
She wasnt accused of any wrongdoing.
Trafficking charges in Indonesia carry a potential life imprisonment but were dropped in june.
Smith was facing a possible 12-year prison sentence for the possession charge.
He avoided that by proving he was an addict. The $741,690 fine was also waived.
Smith told the court he had ordered the meth from a man in Australia three weeks before he was arrested.

He added that the drugs were not for sale but for personal use.
Smith said he regretted his actions and apologised.
The prosecution stated during the trial that Mr Smith had admitted to using methamphetamine regularly since 2020 to reduce anxiety and depression.
In sentencing Smith, the presiding judge Ketut Suarta said: The defendant has been found guilty for abusing drugs for his personal use , and therefore the defendant [has been] sentenced to undergo medical and social rehabilitation at Anargya Sober House for six months, reduce the time he served in custody,
The judge acknowledged that Smith had been polite during the trial and that he had admitted and shown remorse for his actions.
He also took into account that Smith had never committed a crime previously.
Prosecutors had originally sought an eight-month medical rehabilitation for Smith, but the judges said the penalty was reduced as Smith promised to reform and was remorseful.
After Smith’s sentencing, his lawyers and prosecutors accepted the verdict and said they would not appeal.

A relieved Smith addressed the media outside court following his sentencing.

Its not known whether Smith will return to live in South Australia.
