Lays confirmed its popular Do Us a Flavor contest would begin today after a seven-year hiatus.
After years of people asking for the programs return, were excited to hand the reigns back to them to help us uncover the next great potato chip flavor, Denise Truelove, senior vice president of marketing, PepsiCo Foods North America, said in a statement.
The winner of the highly anticipated contest will see their chip flavor in Lays potato chips in 2025 and walk away with $1 million.
Participants can submit flavor Ideas online starting at 1 pm ET today until February 21.

The winning potato chip flavor will be available to purchase for a limited time in stores, and the idea creator will walk away with $1 million
Lays fans can submit up to 10 ideas every day.
In the submission, participants would need to put the flavor name, the inspiration behind the idea and its key ingredients.
A judging panel will get together after the submission deadline passes and narrow it down to three finalists.
Fritos-Lays experts will then create the final three ideas and bring them to the market in April 2025.
The company will then leave the final decision to votes submitted by fans from April 21 to June 13, and will announce the grand prize winner soon afterward.
Although the first and second runner-ups wont win $1 million, the idea submitters will take home $50,000 each.
The contest is open to all US residents with a valid US government-issued photo ID.
Hopeful participants must be at least 18 years old to enter, but potato chip enthusiasts from Alabama and Nebraska must be 19, according to the news release.
Participants will be allowed to submit 10 ideas each day until February 21, 2025. A judging panel will then narrow it down to three finalists
Lays will also be celebrating the return of Do Us a Flavor by releasing five previous flavors for a limited time.
The company will be releasing five Flavor Vault flavors: Chicken & Waffles, Fried Green Tomato, Cheesy Garlic Bread, Southern Biscuits & Gravy, and Crispy Taco.
Chicken & Waffles was a 2012 finalist that brings together the taste of fried chicken, waffles, and maple syrup.
The 2012 finalist was beat by Cheesy Garlic Bread, which includes a mix of cheese and garlic for an irresistible treat.
Southern Biscuits & Gravy was the 2015 flavor champion that won fans hearts with its decadent breakfast experience in the form of a chip.
Other Lays buyers looking for a potato chip inspired by Southern cooking can try the 2017 flavor finalist Fried Green Tomato, which, according to the company, comes with a satisfying crunch.
Despite Fried Green Tomato being a fan-favorite, it was beaten by Crispy Taco - the flavor with hints of beef, sour cream, lettuce, cheese and tomato.
Each potato chip flavor will be part of exclusive kits Lays will be giving away to social media users who follow the company on X, like its campaign post, and comment which flavor theyre excited to see, with #LaysFlavorVault and #Sweepstakes.
