Kamala Harris recruits Barack Obama to battle in the swing states... but why havent we seen Michelle?

Former President Obama will start hitting the campaign trail for Vice President Kamala Harris for the first time starting next week as the race for the White House heats up.

Former President Obama will start hitting the campaign trail for Vice President Kamala Harris for the first time starting next week as the race for the White House heats up.

His appearance comes as the campaign starts rolling out a series of heavy-hitters with Saturday marking one month until the November election as the presidential race looks like it will be a nail-biter.

While both the former president and former First Lady Michelle Obama have both endorsed Harris for president, neither have hit the road for her besides appearing at the convention. That is expected to change soon.

The ex-president will kick off his get out the vote campaigning starting on Thursday, October 10 in Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania is perhaps the most important swing state this election season.

The former president plans to hold rallies in battleground states leading up to Election Day as he promotes Harris and running mate Tim Walz as well as down-ballot Democrats.

President Obama believes the stakes of this election could not be more consequential and that is why he is doing everything he can to help elect Vice President Harris, Governor Walz and Democrats across the country, said Obama senior advisor Eric Schultz.

Schultz said  the goal is to win the White House, keep the Senate and flip the House. He said the focus is persuading and mobilizing voters and stated nothing should be taken for granted.

But while Obama will be hitting the road, perhaps the other biggest draw for Democrats on the campaign trail in 2024 would be his wife Michelle.

An exclusive poll for DailyMail.com last month found the Obamas endorsement had the biggest effect for Harris, more so than an endorsement from Oprah Winfrey or Taylor Swift.

The former first couple made that endorsement in a video in late July.

While the former first lady has yet to announce any upcoming campaign appearances, her speech at the Democratic National Convention in August stole the show overshadowing even her husband who she introduced.

Her scathing take down of Donald Trump received thunderous applause from Democrats and reverberated across the internet.

Before she took the stage, it was not clear the former first lady would even make a showing in Chicago. The last time she was there was to memorialize her late mother.

The politics-adverse former first lady even acknowledged she was not sure she was up for the task during her speech, but she said she felt compelled to show up and honor her moms memory.

With that she delivered a powerful and heartfelt pitch for the vice president.

My girl, Kamala Harris, is more than ready for this moment. She is one of the most qualified people ever to seek the office of the presidency, she said in her remarks.

She also told supporters let us work like our lives depend on it.

Since her show-stopping speech, Obama has not been on the trail, but she has publicly encouraged people to register to vote across her social media platforms through When We All Vote.

Obama has also offered high praise for the vice president including after the September presidential debate when she wrote Harris is the only candidate in this race who is ready to be President.

It could be only a matter of time before the former first lady hits the trail as she herself has advocated for people to roll up their sleeves and DO SOMETHING.

Earlier this year, Axios reported that Obama was not campaigning for Biden due to a family dispute as she was close to Hunter Bidens ex-wife Kathleen Buhle. The White House disputed the relationship was strained.

During the pandemic in 2020, Obama did not hit the campaign for Biden, but she did deliver a closing argument for him that October in the form of a video.

In 2016, she made her first solo appearance on the campaign trail for Hillary Clinton in Virginia in mid-September before the election, the first of several campaign stops.

But she did not appear alongside Clinton in person until the very end of October when they made a swing state visit together to North Carolina. The crucial state could see another razor-thin election this year.

For now, the former first lady has been keeping busy working with a number of organizations and projects as well as criss-crossing the country promoting her latest book.

At the same time, her husband has been helping with fundraising and cutting a series of ads for Democrats in competitive races before hitting the road for the vice president.
