Tyros Eat Pay Love report found it costs the average Australian more than $90 per week to stay in.

The figure took into account payment for streaming services, bills, takeaway and drinks, with one in eight Aussies paying more than $200 per week to stay in.

Nearly 60 per cent of Australians also reported going to their local made them feel a part of their community. 

The widely accepted average cost of a beer was $8.20, according to the report, while 12 per cent of Aussies are happy to pay more than $12 for a beer (with 26 per cent of those people being Gen X).

However, nearly 40 per cent of Aussies are using QR codes to order drinks so they dont need to have the awkward conversation, with more than a third of Aussies less likely to shout their mates drinks compared to last year.

The report also found Aussies are willing to cut back on other purchases in order to go to the pub, with 21 per cent willing to hold off on purchasing new clothes, shoes and makeup.

However more than half of respondents reported ordering less expensive meals in order to save money, while one in three Aussies are still willing to pay more for a meal out.

Despite this, food remains a worthy expense, with pizza taking out the top spot for the food Aussies are most prepared to pay for.

About 17 per cent of Aussies willing to fork out on pizza, with a pub schnitzel also being a favourite at 13 per cent, followed by Chinese food (12 per cent), a good steak (11 per cent) and fish and chips (9 per cent).

Coffee is another thing Aussies are willing to spend on, with the average person happy to spend more than $5 on coffee.

The report, conducted by EFTPOS machine company Tyro, gathered responses from more than 1000 Aussie consumers, with 30 per cent being millennials, 27 per cent Gen X, 26 per cent boomer, and 14 per cent Gen Z.
