Iran claims energy infrastructure hit by missiles as Trump declares five-day pause on power plant strikes: Live updates

Energy infrastructure has reportedly been struck in two areas of Iran despite Donald Trump announcing a five-day pause on striking the countrys power plants following productive talks with Tehran.

Energy infrastructure has reportedly been struck in two areas of Iran despite Donald Trump announcing a five-day pause on striking the countrys power plants following productive talks with Tehran.

According to Iranian media, two gas facilities in Isfahan province and a pipeline in for a power plant in the city of Khorramshahr were hit by US-Israeli airstrikes.

As part of the ongoing attacks carried out by the Zionist and American enemy, the gas administration building and the gas pressure regulation station on Kaveh Street in Isfahan were targeted, said the Fars news agency.

The facilities in central Iran were partially damaged, added Fars, which was Irans only news outlet to report the incident. It said an attack also targeted the gas pipeline of the Khorramshahr power plant, in the countrys southwest.

The exact timing of the supposed attacks is not immediately clear but details emerged last night after Trump declared on Truth Social that strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure would be halted for five days.

Iran said the Presidents claim that talks had taken place was fake news and accused him of trying to manipulate surging oil prices caused by the partial closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile Iran has launched a fresh wave of missiles towards Tel Aviv leaving some homes damaged by falling debris as a result of interceptions.

Iran has launched missile strikes on Tel Aviv just a day after President Donald Trump declared peace talks with the country had been 'good and constructive'.

Iran sent multiple waves of missiles towards Israel, hours after a source told the state-run Fars News Agency: 'Tonight, special events are planned for Tel Aviv and some regional allies of the US and Israel that will completely remove the hope of negotiations from the minds of the aggressors.'

The missiles triggered air raid sirens in parts of Israel, including Tel Aviv where blasts from interceptions were heard.

In one attack, homes in northern Israel were damaged by falling debris following an interception.

Israeli police said six people had been injured.

They said a munition carrying some 100 kilograms of explosives hit the city, causing widespread damage to buildings and vehicles.

Iran media says energy infrastructure attacked as Trump declares pause on military strikes

Iranian media has today reported Israeli-US strikes targeted two gas facilities and a pipeline, hours after US President Donald Trump stepped back from his threat to attack power infrastructure.

'As part of the ongoing attacks carried out by the Zionist and American enemy, the gas administration building and the gas pressure regulation station on Kaveh Street in Isfahan were targeted,' said the Fars news agency.

The facilities in central Iran were "partially damaged", added Fars, which was Iran's only news outlet to report the incident.

It said an attack also targeted the gas pipeline of the Khorramshahr power plant, in the country's southwest, but did not specify the extent of the damage.

On Monday, Trump said 'things are going very well' with Iran, shortly after announcing talks with Tehran and a five-day pause on targeting the Islamic republic's power plants.

The President's abrupt shift came hours before the expiration of a two-day ultimatum under which he threatened to attack Iranian power plants if Tehran did not reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
