I said head to the PADDOCK! Fish and chip shop customers stunned as two horses trot in - but their riders are refused service

Hungry customers were left stunned after two men riding horses strolled into a local chip shop in Wales. 

Diners at Finnegans chip shop in Porthcawl, Bridgend County, were treated to quite a shock last week when two men wearing cowboy hats brazenly rode in on the backs of two huge stallions.

The two riders entered the chippy at around 9:30pm on Saturday but were later refused service and told to leave. 

The bizarre encounter went viral after one punter shared a video of the two men horsing around on TikTok, which has since gained more than 5.5 million views.

Gabe Godbeer, 22, used to work at the fish and chip shop himself and said seeing the horses made his head fly off, adding everyone around me found it funny.

Moments later a second brown horse walked into the shop ridden by a man wearing a pink cowboy hat

He was forced to duck under the door to get into the shop to join his friend

Gabe, who lives in Porthcawl, said he was hoping to buy a snack around 9.30pm after attending Porthcawl Elvis Festival.

He said: It was quite a shock. The first horse made my head fly off, never mind two of them.

On the way home was the chippy. I used to work there so I was just going to go in and make sure everyone was surviving because I know what its like.

It gets crazy on Elvis weekend when I used to work there.

A horse walked in and I was like what the hell is going on. So I took out my phone and recorded it and another horse walked in.

I remember watching the second guy walk in and I think himself and the horse had to duck down under the door. They were bigger than the doors anyway. They only just managed to get in.

There were a lot of people in there getting served as it happened. Everyone got caught off guard. Everyone around me found it funny.

Working there, you do see some things behind that counter. I thought Id seen it all but that this topped anything Id ever seen.

I thought I got it bad but look at these poor people behind the counter now.

I dont think they got served. Im assuming theyre not allowed in there. Im pretty sure they got told to leave because you cant have horses in a fish and chip shop.

Gabe revealed he shared the unique clip to TikTok because no one else wouldve believed him otherwise.

He said: I think no one else wouldve believed me if Id told them. It was such a weird and funny thing to see so I thought Id record it.

I put it online thinking it would be funny but I didnt think itd go this far. Im enjoying having all these views.

Many users took to the comments to express their shock.

One user said: They just horsing around. Another user said: We have so many questions. A third user said: I love this country, its so unserious.

A spokesperson for Finnegans said: A lot of people have said that it was staged but it wasnt. It was the end of the night and two horses walked in.
