Firefighters rushed to the intersection of Parramatta Road and Burwood Road, in Burwood, just before 6am on Wednesday following reports a hotel was on fire.
The blaze ripped through the Bath Arms Hotel, with smoke seen billowing out from its roof.

Authorities closed westbound lanes on Parramatta Road as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames.
The blaze has since been contained.
Motorists are being advised to expect delays during their morning commute as road closures are still in place.
Parramatta Rd now closed westbound at Burwood Rd due to this building fire, Live Traffic Sydney said on X.
All westbound traffics being diverted into Burwood Rd. Slow down and follow police directions on site.
