A daredevil basejumper has filmed himself brazenly leaping off a towering 500ft skyscraper before being confronted by police.

A daredevil basejumper has filmed himself brazenly leaping off a towering 500ft skyscraper before being confronted by police.

The man, whose identity is unknown, shocked onlookers when he appeared at the top of the under construction One Eastside tower block in Birmingham city centre.

In footage posted to the shrapnel_base Instagram account, the unphased thrillseeker can be seen walking along the metal beams of the 51-storey building metres above the citys skyline.

At the same time, a swarm of police officers can be seen amassing inside the construction site on the ground below.

Within a matter of seconds, the adrenaline junkie throws himself from the building, and begins plummeting towards the ground at terrifying speed.

The base jumper then unleashes his parachute just moments later - much to the relief of those watching on - before calmly sailing over the busy roads below.

He eventually lands in between two National Express buses that had luckily stopped on each side of the road.

But before the daredevil was even able to catch his breath, he was apprehended by a police office, who appeared to be in disbelief of what had just unfolded.

The police officer quickly grabs hold of the base jumper shortly after landing.

The jumper then tells him: Let me put this away. Im not running away. Im not a criminal.

The officer, seemingly perplexed at where the man has come, then asks: Where have you come from?

The man then tells him that a plane has just dropped him off.

This only further confuses the officer, as he looks up at the sky, before asking again: Plane, wheres the plane?

Its just gone over that way, the daredevil replies, before the video abruptly ends.

The video was posted to the shrapnel_base Instagram account, which currently boasts more than 5,000 followers.

The caption on the video also read: Epic BASE Jumps in the big city and 10/10 for response times and their professionalism.

Never ideal getting compromised, but we live and learn, until the next time.

Other Instagram users were quick to make fun of the baffled police officer in the comments.

One wrote: The way the police officer starts look upwards followed by a series of laughing emojis.

Another commenter added: Hahahaaaaa, a plane that dropped me off, you’re hilarious.
