Oscar Hamilton, 16, was dropped off by his mother at Woodgrove Shopping Centre, in Melbournes Melton West on Tuesday so he could meet up with his girlfriend, Briannan Hibbert and several friends.
A short time later, he was allegedly stabbed by a 15-year-old boy who has since been charged with murder.
Briannan has been left traumatised after seeing the alleged attack unfold in the outdoor food court outside La Porchetta in front of school holiday diners.
The only thing he said was right after he got stabbed, he said call an ambulance. Thats when it all hit, she told Nine News on Wednesday.
Oscar died before compressions even started.
A frantic Briannan then called Oscars mother for help.
She tried to give me tips on what to do to the stab wounds, she said.

She described the phone call to his parents as the toughest thing shes had to do.
Just hearing how distraught his mum was when I told her, it just sucked, Briannan said.
Seeing her when she got to the scene, it just absolutely sucked.
I just wouldnt wish this on anybody, not even my worst enemy, because it was so horrific to watch, she said.
Briannan also paid an emotional tribute to her late boyfriend.
Oscar brought so much joy to everyones life, she said.
Oscars father, Steven Hamilton, released a statement on behalf of the family overnight.

Police allege Oscar and his alleged attacker were known to each other but insist no links to youth gangs in the western suburbs have been established.
Its believed there may have been an altercation between the victim and another male, Victoria Police said.
The exact circumstances surrounding the teenagers death are yet to be determined.
Its unknown whether the weapon used in the alleged stabbing has been recovered.
Police arrested a boy, 15, several hours after the alleged attack.
He was charged with one count of murder early Wednesday and later appeared in a childrens court today for a filing hearing.
The teen sat in the dock wiping away tears during his brief court appearance.
No details of the alleged offending were read in court
The teen didnt apply for bail and will remain in custody until a committal mention in January.
His lawyer told the magistrate it was the boys first time in custody and he needed to be assessed by a nurse.

Oscars death sparked an outpouring of tributes on social media, led by Brianna.
She has created a public Facebook group to commemorate the 16-year-olds life as she remembered Oscar as a beautiful soul that I was lucky enough to call my boyfriend.
It was never meant to end this way but Im guessing heaven needed you more than us, she wrote.
Nobody will ever get over this. You filled everyones life with so much light and joy. You never failed to bring a smile to faces.
Life will never be the same without you. My heart will forever ache knowing that you are gone.
I will never forgive who did this to you. We are going to get you justice, dont you worry.
Everyone was so lucky to have you in their life. This world was too cruel for your beautiful soul.
Many heartbroken friends remembered Oscar as a lovely and well mannered boy.
You will be missed, Oscar. Words cant describe how much everyone is going to miss you. You were too young to die, one wrote.
Another friend added: It breaks my heart knowing I wont see you anymore but Im extremely grateful for every memory weve had and all the moments we shared on the way. You were the bestest (sic) and funniest friend any of us could have asked for.

A third wrote: My heart sank when I heard you were no longer with us. My heart aches for your family. You didnt deserve this at all.
A fourth one posted: Rest in peace and love sweet boy. You were the sweetest soul ever. You had such a gorgeous smile and a very contagious laugh. You were such a people pleaser, never liked any conflict. No words can describe how much I will miss you. You never deserved what happened to you.
Pip Ware, who met Oscar on a few occasions through her daughter was devastated for his family.
Its tragic, its heartbreaking, I cant even begin to imagine what these kids are going through, she told the Herald Sun.
Its something these children should not have to deal with. He was a lovely, well-mannered kid.
