The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was camping with friends at Wilton, just past the outskirts of south-west Sydney, on Friday night when he was allegedly stabbed by Jacob Greig, 32, during an altercation.
His body was found dumped in bushland off Wilton Park Road on Saturday morning, with Greig arrested shortly after 4pm after presenting himself at Narellan Police Station.
Greig has been charged with murder and is due to front Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday. Police will allege he stabbed the boy during a physical altercation.

Police are speaking a number of witnesses and were canvassing the local area, premises, service stations, everything down there that may lead us to give us some an idea of whats actually happened, Supt Calaman said.
There would be evidence at the scene that indicates it happened in the area where this person has been located ... well have a clearer idea when that area has been processed.
