DailyMail.coms pollster J.L. Partners James Johnson sat down with eight undecided voters of color and showed them the most viral clip of Tuesday nights presidential debate in Philadelphia.

In the clip, the former president insists that in Springfield theyre eating the dogs, the people that came in, theyre eating the cats, theyre eating the pets of the people that live there.

While one woman said the comments made the ex-president look stupid another man chimed in and said that Trump repeating internet conspiracies made him look like an everyman.

He reminds me of the average person who maybe doesnt know everything and theyre just repeating what they hear. But the thing is, a lot of people are repeating that stuff. So, thats why I click on with him, the man said. Theyre hearing that same stuff and theyre saying the same thing.

When Johnson first played the video, the undecided voters were quick to point out what Trump was basing his information on.

Everything he says is based off a fact, but the details are off, one of the three women on the focus group observed.

She noted that there was a report of a Canton, Ohio woman - an American, not a Haitian immigrant - who was arrested and accused of killing and eating a cat in front of several people.

One person - she was American, the woman said.

In August, a Springfield, Ohio resident claimed at a City Commission meeting that Haitian immigrants were eating ducks from the park - but those allegations have not been verified.

When one of the men brought up the duck claim, group members pointed out that ducks are often food.

Thats a little different than a cat or dog though, another woman replied.

When Johnson asked the group if this stuff Trump was talking about was happening, members pushed back saying it wasnt the immigrants.

The immigrants didnt do it. It was somebody that was from the United States, one woman said.

Johnson also asked the group how Trump talking about the pet-eating made them feel.

Its irrelevant, answered one woman.

Another woman called it stupid.

But it didnt appear disqualifying, with the man in a yellow polo shirt answering that it makes Trump seem like an average person and makes the ex-president click with the undecided voter.
