EXCLUSIVEIm furious after people said my Christmas tree was the worst theyd ever seen... theyre just spiteful

A mother whose Christmas tree was savaged by trolls on social media has hit back at nasty people.

A mother whose Christmas tree was savaged by trolls on social media has hit back at nasty people.

Joanne Rayworths post on Facebook revealing her festive decorations have now received over 11,000 likes.

However her patience was severely tested after a minority of users criticised her tree, which she said took her over six hours to finish.

Joanne, from Fleetwood near Blackpool, told MailOnline that she understood criticism but was hurt by spiteful comments.

She said: If someone does not like my tree yes that is fine. They are entitled to their opinion.

But to describe it as tacky and cheap is just wrong. I tried not to lose my temper because some of the comments made me very angry.

One person said it was the worst tree she had ever seen. Really? That was just spiteful and hurt.

Joanne works at Gee Tees, a homeware store in Fleetwood which also sells seasonal decorations from the end of September each year.

The mother posts pictures of her festive centrepiece online every year, but said this was the first time it had attracted such attention.

But one user remarked that early November was too early for festive decorations.

They wrote: You have it up already? Thought it was bad luck to put it up before Dec 1?

Others said it was not traditional enough.

One woman wrote: Its screaming live laugh love.

Another said: Doesnt look Christmasy at all.

One woman wrote: Dont see Christmas when I look at this at all, but it is pretty.

Another said; Lovely colours, but it doesnt represent Christmas in my eyes. Im more traditional x

Defending her early decorations, Joanne said: I just love Christmas and my tree goes up early every year. I always like to get it up in November and I love decorating trees at work.

Winters are so dark and cold and I love sitting in surrounded by decorations. They make me feel cosy. I look forward to Christmas every year.

Other online comments were far more complimentary, with many praising the trees originality.

Wow what a beautiful tree, so different but gorgeous, one person wrote.

Another said: That is different so colourful. You defo got the best Christmas tree going.

Joanne said she had spent £150 just on decorations for the tree, plus wreaths to match it as well.

I go all out [at Christmas], she told MailOnline.

Every year I try and do something a bit different, even if its just adding a colour. I say Im going to spend a bit and I dont. They laugh at me at work.

A lot were saying [it was] Easter colours. Dont tempt because I will keep it up til Easter!, she joked.

Id keep it up all year round if I could. I hate taking it down.

Joanne said that she would be celebrating the big day at her sons house this year.

She said: Yes I am going to my sons for Christmas. But I will be doing the cooking for him and his partner. But I dont mind. I love Christmas and nobody will spoil it for me.
