Jonty Parkinson, 18, who was the son of Michelles sister Ali - the former partner of rugby legend Will Carling - is said to have tragically died last Friday.

Former England rugby captain Carling separated from Jontys mother when she was known as Ali Cockayne and their son Henry was just 11 months old in 1998.

Two of Linekers four sons from his first marriage, have penned moving social media messages about the death of their much-loved cousin.

George Lineker, 31, posted an Instagram story - which has since been taken down - featuring a picture of himself with Jonty as a youngster with a caption, saying: One of the nicest boys youll meet, taken far too soon. Fly high cousin, youll be missed by all.

Meanwhile Tobias Lineker, 28, also posted a boyhood picture of Jonty smiling with a message, saying: Taken from us far too soon, rest in peace little cousin.

The messages from Linekers sons were accompanied by red hearts, showing their love for Jonty who was the son of their aunt Ali, 55, and her 41-year-old husband Bob Parkinson.

Details of how the teenager died have not been revealed, but tribute has been paid to him in a gofundme appeal post, describing him as a very special, beautiful young man who was loved and adored.

The appeal set up by Allison Murray, says: To friends of Bob and Ali Parkinson, I have started this fundraiser to help them create a beautiful memorial or event to celebrate the life of their much loved son Jonty, who tragically lost his life on the 6th September.

I realise money cant fill the great chasm of loss they are feeling but I hope it can be used to ease the burden of funeral expenses or go towards a fitting memorial for Jonty or in anyway (sic) the family see fit.

The appeal which had a £3,000 target has so far raised more than £24,000 from more than 230 donations.

Allison has since updated her appeal with a message thanking those who had made donations.

She wrote: Hi just to let you know Bob and Ali now know about this fund, they were told last night and are completely overwhelmed by the generosity and love you have shown for their beautiful son Jonty. Thank you so much x

Carlings relationship with Ali Cockayne reportedly began in early 1996, several months before his divorce from television presenter Julia Carling.

His two year marriage to Julia had ended after he was publicly linked with the late Diana, Princess of Wales, although he always denied having a relationship with the Royal.

Ali and Carling were said to be preparing to marry in 1998 when he walked out on her to be with Lisa Cooke, the estranged wife of his friend and ex-England rugby player David Cooke.

She was reportedly devastated to learn their relationship was over when she discovered a press release which Carling had written in the study of their luxury home in Sunningdale, Berkshire.

It allegedly read: Will Carling is leaving his partner Ali Cockayne for a future with Lisa Cooke.

The couples dramatic break-up happened just a month after Carling retired from rugby, having won three Grand Slams.

Lisas relationship with Carling is said to have begun while she was organising his testimonial match at Wembley.

Carling released a statement at the time through his agent, saying: This has been a very sad and painful time for everyone concerned.

It is even more difficult and emotional because of Henry, but I plan to fulfil my duties and responsibilities as a father.

He and Lisa married in Fiji in 1999 with her two children from her earlier marriage being the only guests. The couple have since had two children together.

Three months later, she met multi-millionaire Carphone Warehouse boss David Ross and enjoyed a lavish jet-set lifestyle with him as they lived together in a luxury flat.

But their relationship foundered after Ross, who was worth £450 million when his company was floated on the Stock Exchange, began devoting more time to his home in Switzerland.

Ali had another romance before she settled down for a while with handsome ocean rower Rob Abernethy, but neither relationship lasted.

She finally found happiness in 2005 when she became engaged to chef Bob Parkinson who was 14 years her junior, after meeting at her local gastro pub, The Swan, in Southrop, Gloucestershire, where he had been hired to transform the menu

The couple married in August 2005 in a church wedding in in Coln St Aldwyns, near Cirencester, attended by Lineker.

The former Match of the Day host and ex-England star met Alis sister Michelle when she was just 14 and he was an 18-year-old reserve for his home club Leicester City.

The couple married in 1986, but Michelle filed for divorce in 2006 on the grounds of her husbands unreasonable behaviour.

She submitted court documents claiming his actions in their marriage had caused her stress and anxiety.

Lineker and Michelle later stated their marriage breakdown was amicable and have since remained on friendly terms.

The ex-footballer began dating Daniell Bux who was 20 years his junior when they met on a blind date a year after his split with Michelle, and they married in Italy two years later.

The pair announced they were parting in 2016, and Lineker suggested in an interview with The Times that Danielles desire for children had caused their break-up.

Speaking in 2019, Lineker told the Mirror that he and Danielle were still best mates and spoke every day.
