EXCLUSIVE Seven-year stalking hell of James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli revealed - as her stalker appears in court charged with breaching restraining order

Former James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has been stalked for at least seven years, it was revealed in court yesterday.

Former James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has been stalked for at least seven years, it was revealed in court yesterday.

Daniel Wilson, 36, was given a restraining order in 2017 but then allegedly contacted her 11 times from April 2022 to April last year, legal papers show.

Wilson, who is detained under the Mental Health Act, appeared before a judge via videolink from a hospital in south London yesterday.

Psychiatric reports about Wilson are being prepared, Southwark Crown Court was told, and he was not asked to enter a plea to 11 charges of breaching a restraining order.

He was given bail with conditions that he is to live and sleep at the hospital and cannot contact Ms Broccoli.

Wilson was also told he is not allowed to possess a device capable of accessing the internet – to which he replied: That is Dickensian.

Ms Broccoli, 64, together with her half-brother Michael G Wilson oversaw the spy film franchise until earlier this year.

It was taken over by Amazon MGM Studios – owned by billionaire Jeff Bezos, who controversially bought the franchise rights for £770million.

However, Ms Broccoli was reported to have told friends in December last year that she did not trust the online giant with the character.

The Wall Street Journal said that she had told her friends: These people are f***ing idiots.

The film franchise came into Ms Broccolis hands after her father Albert Cubby Broccoli bought the rights to Ian Flemings novels featuring the British MI6 agent in 1961.

He produced the first Bond film – Dr No starring Sean Connery as 007 – the following year and oversaw the franchise until he passed it on to Ms Broccoli and Mr G Wilson in 1995.

Ms Broccoli began working on the films at the age of 17 when she joined the publicity department for The Spy Who Loved Me, which starred Roger Moore and was released in 1977.

She progressed to the role of associate producer for 1987s The Living Daylights, with Timothy Dalton in the lead role, before taking over as producer for 1995 film GoldenEye, featuring Pierce Brosnan.

She was awarded an OBE in 2008 for services to film, drama, philanthropy and skills and then a CBE in 2022.

The most recent Bond film – No Time To Die which starred Daniel Craig – was released in 2021 and ended with the spy being killed in a missile strike.

However, there remains no script for the next film and no one has been cast as the next martini-drinking secret agent.

Wilson is due to reappear at court on May 27.
