Police arrested a 34-year-old woman after they received more than 100 complaints from newlyweds about a videographer.
Numerous couples claimed their wedding had been ruined by the professional either not turning up or failing to give them the footage she took.
Detectives launched a probe following a string of fraud allegations made against the woman, who is from Kent.
Issues included the videographer being paid for her work before cancelling on the morning of the ceremony and her taking months or even years to have completed video packages sent to them.
Mail Online reported earlier this month how more than 100 couples are said to have been impacted.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: A 34-year-old woman was arrested in relation to fraud and theft offences on Thursday 23 January 2025. She has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Some customers who said they had been waiting up to three years, have been told they would not receive a video and will instead have to send an external hard drive to the videographer, who will then send out the raw, unedited footage she captured.
Shania Stanton and her husband Jack both claim their videographer cancelled on the morning of their wedding
Full time mother Shania Stanton said her cancellation on the morning of her wedding with husband Jack, left an unhappy cloud over the event. Shania, left, said: I could not believe the scale of it all. It still shocks me
Kent Police had emailed one alleged victim to say they thought it might end up being a civil matter.
The email said: This is an ongoing police investigation which I believe will end up potentially being civil.
However, over the next few weeks / months I will be in touch with legal services in regards to ensuring people receive any footage / hard drives that are rightfully owned by them.
The officer also warned it might be a lengthy process.
Couples from Kent and all over the country have been hit by the issue and a Facebook page for those impacted has 285 members.
MailOnline spoke to many couples who claimed they had been waiting over two years for their wedding videos.
They claimed that they had been told if they wished to receive the raw footage from their special day they would need to sign contracts preventing them from speaking about their experiences with the videographers company.

Full time mother Shania Stanton said her cancellation on the morning of her wedding with husband Jack, left an unhappy cloud over the event.
Shania said: The videographer was the most important part of the wedding really. It was one of the first things we wanted to get sorted.
We booked for a full day of video, including bridal prep to late night. She said she was going to spring sparklers for the late night part.
Id looked through her work, it looked amazing, so I was really excited. We booked it and paid it off in full, you get a 10 per cent discount for paying straight away.
Then in the run up to the wedding, I started seeing all this negative stuff about other brides she let down.
So I messaged her about it, and said are you still coming on 6th July? She reassured me she was. I was still nervous, but I didnt want to pay for another videographer,
Then on the morning of the wedding she sent me an email saying she could not make it.
It was one of the biggest days of my life so I was not checking my emails. She did not arrive on time and then never showed up. It was so upsetting.
Shania said: I could not believe the scale of it all. It still shocks me. Theres other who had their wedding films but not had it sent to them. Shes not willing to refund them.
I messaged her at 1.30pm on the day on Facebook asking where she was and then she blocked me. It was appalling. It left a great hole in the day.
My photographer said he had a spare camera and could set up on a tripod for the first dance etc. he created a highlights video from that - thanks to him weve at least got that.
Shania also said it was a great battle to get a refund.
She added: The next day I emailed her, I asked for my money back as I had paid her just under £600.
She said Id get my money within 28 days, theres no special treatment for me because she didnt turn up. There was no apology or anything, Shania continued.
She then started to read more stories about what other couples had gone through.
She added: I could not believe the scale of it all. It still shocks me. Theres other who had their wedding films but not had it sent to them. Shes not willing to refund them.
We all just want answers. Some people have been waiting years. How on earth is this allowed to happen? Its disgusting. I dont know how she sleeps at night.
She concluded: If there were one or two issues along the way, I would understand. But this is on a very large scale. Shes a liar. It is terrible.
