Diddy plays the race card as lawyer claims Feds are just trying to tear down a successful black man

The attorney representing Sean Diddy Combs has claimed his case is an example of the federal governments general toxicity towards a successful black man.

The attorney representing Sean Diddy Combs has claimed his case is an example of the federal governments general toxicity towards a successful black man.

The scandal hit music mogul, 54, was sensationally arrested and charged last week with crimes including racketeering and sex trafficking, which he has denied.

His attorney Marc Agnifilo, a former Manhattan Assistant District Attorney, has came out and blamed the feds for taking Diddy down because he is Black.

Speaking on TMZs The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, Agnifilo said the federal government was historically no friend of the successful black man.

They start making this case as a takedown of a successful black man. This is the government scrutinizing his business, scrutinizing his taxes, he does everything right, he said.

Agnifilo added: Whats the last vestige, we are going to go into his bedroom because maybe we dont like the way he is having sex.

He continues that his client has made some of the most important businesses owned by a black man and that society has now reduced Diddy to a monster.

Combs was arrested by Homeland Security Officials last week at the Park Hyatt hotel in midtown Manhattan.

Since then, he has been incarcerated while he awaits trial inside Brooklyns Metropolitan Detention Center.

The charge, which details allegations dating back to 2008, accuses him of abusing, threatening and coercing women for years to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct.

Combs has been accused of arranging Freak Offs, described as elaborate and produced sex performances arranged and directed by Combs while he masturbated and often recorded them.

His indictment stated that some Freak Offs would last for days, requiring Combs and victims to receive IV fluids to recover from the exertion and drug use.

Federal agents claimed that they confiscated 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant following a raid on his homes in Miami and Los Angeles earlier this year.

Earlier this week Agnifilo said that the star liked to buy in bulk like other Americans commonly do.

He told the New York Post: I dont think it was 1,000. I think it was a lot. I mean, there is a Costco right down the street. I think Americans buy in bulk, as we know.

Agnifilo added: These are consensual adults doing what consensual adults do, you know, we cant get so puritanical in this country to think that somehow sex is a bad thing because if it was there would be no more people.

Costco has since came out and confirmed that they dont sell baby oil in any of their locations across the country.

Agnifilo said his client is feeling positive about his chances in court, adding: Hes just laser-focused, hes engaged, hes helpful, hes confident.

Were going through our defense as we do every day and his spirits are relatively good.

Diddys arrest came 10 months after allegations of sexual and other abuse against the music mogul, and an announcement from prosecutors that he was being investigated for sex trafficking.

The allegations began with a lawsuit by Diddys ex Cassie Ventura which claimed she was beaten and raped by the star.

The suit was settled the day after it became public, but Diddy has since been dogged by other claims.

The indictment against him also alleges he coerced and abused women for years while using blackmail and shocking acts of violence to keep his victims in line.

It refers obliquely to an attack on his former girlfriend, Cassie, that was captured on video.

Prosecutors wanted him jailed. His attorneys proposed that he be released on a $50 million bond to home detention with electronic monitoring. US Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky sided with the government.

Like many aging hip-hop figures, Bad Boy Records founder Diddy had established a gentler public image.

The father of seven was a respected businessman whose annual Hamptons White Party was once a must-have invitation for the jet-setting elite.

But prosecutors said he facilitated his crimes using the same companies, people and methods that vaulted him to power.

They said they would prove the charges with financial and travel records, electronic communications and videos of the Freak Offs.

In March, authorities raided Combs Los Angeles and Florida homes, seizing drugs, videos and more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant, prosecutors said.

They said agents also seized guns and ammunition, including three AR-15s with defaced serial numbers.

A conviction on every charge would require a mandatory 15 years in prison with the possibility of a life sentence.
