BREAKING NEWSMan taken to police station after womans body is found in unit in beachside suburb

A woman has been found dead at a unit in the eastern Sydney beachside suburb of Maroubra. 

Shortly before 12pm on Monday, the emergency services were called to an address in Astoria Circuit following a report the womans body was found.

The woman is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in her 60s, a police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia. 

A 50-year-old man is assisting with inquiries.

A 50-year-old man is assisting with inquiries. He has been taken to Maroubra police station

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he is assisting police with inquiries.

The police established a crime scene and started an investigation into the death.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
