An Australian woman has died after a snorkelling boat carrying 13 tourists capsized off the Indonesian island of Bali.

An Australian woman has died after a snorkelling boat carrying 13 tourists capsized off the Indonesian island of Bali. 

Anna Maree, 39, from Canberra, reportedly died during the expedition. 

The boat was carrying 11 other Australian tourists when it overturned on its way to Renida Island, a short journey from Denpasar. 

Local police spokesman Agus Widiono said the boat was battered by giant waves.
