BREAKING NEWS Mans hand is SEVERED during violent assault in Coffs Harbour

A mans hand has been severed during a violent assault on the NSWs North Coast. 

Emergency services were called to a home on Toormina Place in Coffs Harbour about 6.45am on Wednesday. 

The 59-year-old man was treated at the scene before he was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Two men, one of whom is believed to be known to the man, had left the home before officers arrived, NSW Police said in a statement.
