The vehicle rammed into a crowd of people on the sidewalk, outside of the Santee Alley shopping area in the Fashion District.
Its unclear if the situation is terror related and it is under active investigation by the LAPD Central Traffic Division.
At least nine people were injured, including several children, when the vehicle crashed on Sunday afternoon around 3.15pm, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Two of the victims, both 23-year-old women, were released from the scene post-incident against medical advice.
Four adult women, ages 54, 65, 30 and 23, and three little boys, ages 8, 11 and 17, were taken to a local hospital in fair condition, officials told Fox 11.
The victims were all in fair condition, according to officials.
The LAPD warned drivers to expect delays near the area where the incident occurred.
