The 73-year-old Irish singer and activist didnt mince his words when he shared his thoughts on the US election on The Project ahead of his Australian tour next year.
Americans will go to the polls this week to decide their next president- to give Trump a second term or for Kamala Harris to make history as the first US female president.
Ive no problem with Harris, but itll be Trump who wins and that is unspeakably terrifying, Geldof told the panel on Sunday following a segment about the election.
That clown youve just shown, an awful man. He really is an awful, a terrible person.
So he gets elected president of the most powerful country - everything that happens here, everything that happens in the UK is dependent.
Geldof added that instability around the world could be either worsened or improved by the next US next president.
Referencing Putins invasion of Ukraine, he said: Youve got a brute invading Europe now, beating up a people who just want to be free.

Of Trump (pictured), Geldof said: Hes a fraudster, is a bankrupt. His entire business life has been built on debt
Youve got the horror in Palestine. Youve got absolute horror in Sudan - which we dont read about but I wake up to 12 emails every morning, and you have this fool who is a bankrupt, he said, the latter referencing Trump.
Hes a fraudster, is a bankrupt. His entire business life has been built on debt, which he then defaults on and declares Chapter 11 (bankruptcy).
However, it was what Geldof said next that left the panel in laughter.
All that aside, the man is a despicable p****, he told the stunned panel.
Comedian Dave Hughes remarked: Tell us what you really think.
Geldof continued: Seriously, its scary as anything - I would love for that woman (Harris) to win.
Some people say would say Look, hes been president before we got through it, well get to the other side.
We got through it because Covid neutralised everything and everyone and he, of course, was inadequate with dealing with that situation.

And Geldof wasnt finished just yet.
I mean, youre going to elect a zombie president, you know? he said.
Is he funny? No, hes not... This guy is a oaf and scared.
