However, superstar singer Taylor Swift went for an edgier look as she donned a tartan outfit to attend the 40th anniversary of the MTV Music Video Awards.

Swift arrived at the UBS Arena in New York decked out in a yellow and black tartan dress by Dior featuring a zip-up corset top skirt and black, velvet shorts.

She accessorised the outfit with a pair of thigh-high boots and strappy, leather, fingerless gloves that stretched past her elbows.

The gown was first revealed at the unveiling of Dior’s 2025 Cruise collection in the gardens of Drummond Castle near Crieff, in Perthshire, in June, as celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence, Rosamund Pike and Anya Taylor-Joy watched on.

The collection drew inspiration from Scottish craft traditions and Mary, Queen of Scots.

Swift’s outfit was a departure from her typical red carpet style, which usually sees her decked out in crystals, diamonds or sequins, and more traditional gowns.

The singers decision to wear the Scotland-inspired outfit comes after she played three sold-out shows in Edinburgh this summer.

Nearly 73,000 Swifties attended each of three nights at Murrayfield Stadium in June, making the run of shows the most attended stadium gig in the nations history.

And the fans rapturous reception for the US singing sensation even saw earthquake readings detected up to 3.7 miles away.

The British Geological Survey (BGS) said fans on the first night of the UK leg of Swifts international Eras tour generated the most seismic activity, with spikes caused by dancing particularly evident during her songs Shake It Off, Cruel Summer and Ready For It?.

The earthquake monitors recorded fans dancing in time to the music and reached a peak at 160 beats per minute during Ready For It?, with the BGS saying the crowd was transmitting around 80kW of energy - equivalent to around 6,000 car batteries.

The four-minute applause during Champagne Problems the same night also caused a spike on the monitors.

In recent years, Dior Cruise shows have been staged in Mexico, Morocco and California.

Luckily, the weather in Perthshire stayed fine during this years Scottish show and Diors outdoor catwalk was able to go ahead, with models sporting kilts.

Unicorns and thistles appeared as fashion embellishments, while the classic Bar jacket was reimagined with velvet buttons.

Diors Scottish ties date back to 1951, when Christian Dior presented his spring/ summer collection in Perthshire. In 1955, he also presented a womenswear collection in the ballroom of the Gleneagles Hotel.

Diors celebrity, influencer and fashion editor guests were put up on the country estate, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. They were invited to partake in golf, archery and, for those not on Ozempic, a lavish afternoon tea.
