Minnesota Govenor Tim Walz has responded to Taylor Swifts endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris as he acknowledged his fellow cat owner.
Walz, who is Vice President Kamala Harris VP pick on the Democratic ticket, appeared on MSNBCs The Rachel Maddow Show on Tuesday night, shortly after the presidential debate wrapped and news broke of Swifts public support for Harris.
I am incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift, and I say that as a fellow cat owner, Walz quipped after Maddow read him part of Swifts passionate Instagram post endorsing Harris, as reported by Billboard.
He went on to commend Harris on her eloquent and clear demeanor during the debate, adding that she eludes the type of courage we need in America to stand up.
Walz used the opportunity to reflect on the importance of such endorsements in todays political climate, adding: Weve seen it out of Republicans who stood up at the DNC.

Swift, known for her massive influence and dedicated fan base as well as her chart-topping hits, took to Instagram to clarify her political stance following a wave of AI-generated content falsely claiming she had endorsed Donald Trump.
Her post not only rebuked the misuse of artificial intelligence to spread misinformation but also laid out her reasons for supporting Harris and Walz.
She wrote: Recently I was made aware that AI of "me" falsely endorsing Donald Trumps presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation.
It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.
Swift continued: I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. Im voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.
I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.

Meanwhile, Republicans were furious at ABC News moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis for refusing to fact check Kamala Harris on her lies about Donald Trumps views on IVF.
Muir and Davis have repeatedly attempted to fact check Trump during the debate on issues such as the Capitol riot and a claim about migrant crime.
However, Harris incorrectly stated that Trump was against in vitro fertilization during the debate.
