A police officer has been accused of stealing toilet paper – from her own station.


A police officer has been accused of stealing toilet paper – from her own station.

PC Julie Smith allegedly took the loo rolls from the precinct in Leicester and put them in her car to take back home.

The officer will face a misconduct panel after she was accused of taking the paper on three separate occasions in January and February last year.

She has since left the force. Ms Smith is due to appear before the panel next week accused of gross misconduct.

Leicestershire Police said it is alleged she has breached standards of­ ­professional behaviour, namely honesty and integrity.

It is claimed she took the toilet paper without permission or authority.

The hearing is due to take place at the forces headquarters on Monday and last three days.
