The daughter of a Tennessee congressman accused by his wife of having an affair in a blistering message to his colleagues on Capitol Hill slammed her father as his divorce turns sour.
Catherine Green, the daughter of Republican Mark Green, spoke out after her mother, Camilla, revealed his alleged affair to other congressmembers last week, accusing him of becoming intoxicated with power and adoration.
Camilla sparked a media storm after misidentifying his alleged mistress as a journalist for Axios, later apologizing for the mistake.
Now, his daughter is saying the actual affair began last fall, blaming Washington, DC power circles.
Over the last year-and-a-half, two years, weve really noticed a difference in him, she told Nashville Banner.

Green, the Homeland Security Committee chairman who is up for re-election in November, was slammed by his wife for pushing God out of his life and having a tryst with a younger woman
Who knows if that’s just the toxic environment that is DC, but something has changed. Weve all had to basically grieve the loss of the person that we thought was our father, she continued.
She described her father as self-centered aloof, saying he became particularly disinterested with family life around Christmas.
My dad sells himself in politics as being a Christian, conservative family man. His actions in the last, whatever, year have not been that, she added.
It comes after Greens wife Camilla apologized after misidentifying his alleged mistress in a blazing message sent to GOP Congressmembers.
Camilla Green pointed the finger at a 32-year-old reporter with the online news outlet Axios, who she described as a predator and said Satan has rewritten our marriage in his mind.
She added that her husband drifted away from her as he spent time with colleagues having affairs and getting divorces, drinking, parties - all while hosting a weekly Bible study in the basement of our home.
After the message circulated widely throughout Washington, DC, Camilla apologized for misidentifying the woman, saying in a statement to Politico: I want to correct the record, because I misidentified someone in that message.
My husband has never had a relationship with a reporter from Axios, and I regret having said that.
Catherine followed up that her mother was very overwhelmed right now because she made a mistake about the job of this particular woman... She’s had lawsuits threatened against her.
Green was accused by his wife of falling head over heels in love with a 32-year-old woman, who was misidentified as a reporter with the online news outlet Axios
Camilla, pictured with her three-term congressman husband, admitted she pointed the finger at the wrong woman in her message, saying she regrets having said that
When Camilla sent her message, she warned that her husband was living life greatly deceived.
Camilla alleged that Green was cheating on her with a 32-year-old woman who he fell head over heels in love with, to the extent that he wanted to marry her and start a new family.
I have offered reconciliation, and he wants nothing of it and has insisted on a divorce, she wrote.
An attorney with Axios reportedly sent Camilla a cease-and-desist letter after the misidentification, saying it was taking this matter extremely seriously.
It was claimed that one reporter came under scrutiny from her colleagues because of her age and proximity to Green in her work, which the attorney said has not only caused this reporter considerable emotional distress, it has harmed her professional reputation.
Green, a leading conservative Republican who was in the running for Speaker of the House last year, was accused of having affairs and getting divorces, drinking, parties - all while hosting a weekly Bible study in the basement of our home
This led the woman involved in the alleged affair to come forward to Politico to clear the reporters name, as she described her relationship with Green as on-again-off-again.
She told the outlet: It is no secret that Mark is going through something personal, and I want to respect his privacy, but in the interest of making sure there is no collateral damage, I want to make sure people know that any rumors or claims of a relationship with a reporter are abjectly false.
In response to the allegations, Green did not directly deny that he had an affair, telling Politico that he was currently going through divorce proceedings and will continue to serve [his] district with all I’ve got.
Green was elected in 2019, rising to the position of Homeland Security Committee chairman. He previously announced plans to retire earlier this year but reversed course weeks later at the request of Donald Trump. He is currently up for re-election.
He filed for divorce in August, saying in his statement that his divorce is a difficult time for my family and me and asking for privacy.
