The festive selection includes four vibrantly-colored hot drink cups with eye-catching patterns to reel in the holiday season. There is also cup for cold drinks with white wintery details.

The company revealed the cups that will debut on Thursday, November 7 in statement on Saturday.

A spirited Instagram video showed the behind the scenes of creating the cups. 

Graphic elements include charms that look like old-fashioned holiday ornaments or peppermints, which appear on cups and merchandise, the company wrote.

Starbucks creative director Kristy Cameron said: We love finding these genuine moments of joy and coffee to inspire the creative.

Whether that’s coffee trees growing, beans roasting, cups toasting, or lights glowing – we wanted to share the warmth of our coffeehouse and the anticipation of the red cups arriving with our customers and partners.

Some Starbucks fans were thrilled with the brand new designs and expressed their excitement in the Instagram announcements comment section.

One user said: These are so cute and cheerful!

Others did not share this enthusiasm.

Starbucks told People magazine: For many customers, the return of Starbucks holiday cups signals the start of the season.

But as the comment section revealed, many people were not put in a festive mood by these designs. 

I feel like these get less and less holiday themed each year, a disappointed patron wrote.

Someone plainly wrote that these cups are ugly and several others requested more traditional holiday designs for next year.

These cups do not scream holiday at all! Go back to the "feeling" of holiday, one user asserted. 

The Warm Wishes cup features multi-colored polka dots to resemble holiday lights and the bottom of the coffee cups when people say cheers to each other. 

Another variety, the Joyful Connection cup, has striped circle patterns that are meant to looks like the trays roasted coffee beans cool down on.

The Lyrical Landscape cup has spiraling lines that weave together. Starbucks wrote it is supposed to represent ribbons and the green rolling hills where coffee is grown.

The Siren Chorus option was inspired by patterns made when raking coffee beans and the flowing lines of the companys signature Siren logo.

Before sharing the news about the 2024 holiday cups, Starbucks revealed its plans to stop charging extra for non-dairy milk in drinks

This change will reduce the cost of some customers drinks by up to 10 percent and will go into effect the same day as the new holiday cups.  

This is just one of many changes well make to ensure a visit to Starbucks is worth it every time, CEO Brian Niccol said about the dairy-alternative decision.

Niccol, who recently left his position as the CEO of Chipotle Mexican Grill to run Starbucks, told CNBC about another major change being made - Starbucks will go back to writing out customers names by hand.

He told the outlet: The number I heard was something like close to 200,000 Sharpies we’ve got to track down.

Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as just going to the Staples and picking up some Sharpies.

He believes this creates a more personable experience for customers.
