One person has been killed and another is fighting for life after a horrific crash on Queenslands Bruce Highway.
The accident happened at around 5pm on Sunday when a ute traveling on the Bruce Highway near Myrtlevale, north of Proserpine, collided with another car.
By the time emergency crews arrived, the car was fully engulfed in flames, Queensland Police said.
The driver of the car, who has not yet been identified, was declared dead shortly after the crash.
The utes driver, a man in his 60s, was treated at the scene by paramedics and then airlifted to Mackay Base Hospital in critical condition.
Forensic examinations are underway to formally identify the driver of the car, police said.
Witnesses, or anyone with relevant vision, are urged to contact police.
