Social media users on X and Instagram cannot stop talking about the latest trailer for the upcoming Netflix movie Woman of the Hour.
The thriller that was described as, creepy and fantastic, stars Anna Kendrick, who is also making her directorial debut.
The 39-year-old shared the trailer on X this morning, and revealed she cant wait for it to be released on October 18.
But some are hesitant to watch the film after seeing what one person called a disturbing trailer.
Kendrick portrays Cheryl Bradshaw - a contestant on The Dating Game who nearly went on a date with serial killer Rodney Alcala.
Alcala was bachelor number one on a 1978 episode of The Dating Game, and was described as a successful photographer who enjoys skydiving and motorcycling.
He dazzled Bradshaw and audience members with his witty charm, despite being in the middle of a crime spree.
Before his murder spree, Alcala allegedly assaulted young women while he was in the army in the early 1960s, and nearly killed eight-year-old Tali Shapiro in 1968.
Alcala managed to escape law enforcement, and murdered Cornelia Crilley in New York apartment in 1971.
The serial killer murdered at least four women in total before appearing on The Dating Game, and despite being given a tennis-themed date with a trip to Magic Mountain, Bradshaw refused to go due to finding him creepy.
Alcala murdered Jill Parenteau and 12-year-old Robin Samsoe in 1979, but was finally arrested by law enforcement later that year.
He was officially linked to eight murders before dying of natural causes on death row in 2021, but law enforcement believe his victim count is much higher.
Bradshaw stayed out of the limelight after her appearance on The Dating Game, and was not harmed by Alcala.

Other X users who watched the trailer werent disturbed over its plot, but instead had no interest in seeing a film with Kendrick.
Directed by Anna Kendrick? Hard pass, an X user tweeted this morning.
A few Instagram users were also creeped out by the trailer despite their excitement over Kendricks directorial debut.
These previews make me so nervous, I know exactly how she is feeling, an Instagram user wrote.
Various X users were freaked out about the trailer, and insisted they would not be watching Woman of the Hour
The trailer for Woman of the Hour has been released, and to say this is a highly anticipated film for the year for me, even though I am not typically into true crime, is an understatement, an X user tweeted.
X users also praised Kendrick for taking on the project, and complimented her talent and appearance.
This looks intense and exciting. It seems so good and look at you; you look amazing and as always a great act!, an X user wrote.
Several X and Instagram users were intrigued by the films trailer despite its plot line
Woman of the Hour received several positive reviews from critics following its 2023 premiere, and it holds a 90 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Critics were disturbed by the film, but in a great way.
The movie can be punishing to watch; I certainly struggled to sit through my screening, wrote a critic from The Atlantic.
Still, Kendrick proves herself a skillful director, with a knack for building suspense.
A confidently made thriller thats not just a true crime story but an unpacking of systemic misogyny and how it encourages violence, RogertEbert.com critic Brian Tallerico wrote.
Other reviewers werent so nice about the film, but more than one was about Kendricks direction rather than the plot.
Anna Kendricks directorial debut, about a abused upstart actress and a serial killer in her midst, says all the right things, but too loud and too often, a critic wrote for Little White Lies.
One reviewer from Huffington Post wrote: Woman of the Hour isnt a great movie. Its a film about a lot of things that dont always come to fruition.
