Strikes mother, Charlyn McCain, has asked people to avoid the area where Emily was recovered as the investigation continues, she pleaded in a Facebook post

Strike was last seen at a friends house on 4th Street, where she was staying. She left the residence on foot, according to the Missing Persons flyer. She was reported missing eight days after she was last seen.

The last time McCain spoke with her daughter, she had her mother she was going to see her three youngest children, who live with their father in Illinois.

However, a week later, the childrens father, Steve Fults, called McCain and asked if she had heard from Strite, who he said never told him she was coming to see her children.
