Five people including a child were killed when a single-engine plane crashed in North Carolina.
Jason Campbell, 45, was among five people who perished when the doomed aircraft - a Cirrus SR22 - crashed on Saturday night near the woods near Wright Brothers National Memorials First Flight Airport.
Campbell was a a native of Lubbock and served as a commander in the Armys Special Forces.
The names of the remaining victims not been released as of Monday evening.
The National Park Service was waiting for the medical examiners office, according to spokesperson Mike Barber.

Witnesses reported that the plane was attempting to land at the airport when it caught on fire causing the airplane to burn.
The Kill Devil Hills Fire Department and other local fire departments were at the scene, according to the National Parks Service (NPS) release.
The plane crashed approximately 90 miles south of Virginia Beach, Virginia, as per KLJB News radio.
Campbells devastated family said he was a graduate of Trinity Christian and a high ranking officer in the military, as per a local news report. A photo on his social media showed Campbell smiling in the cockpit of an airplane.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash.
On Sunday, the Wright Brothers National Memorial was closed.
