The Houthis in Yemen joined the conflict in the Middle East overnight as the militia fired a missile towards Israel for the the first time.
Israels military said it had successfully intercepted the strike, but the move raises concerns that the armed militia could join Tehran in attacks on shipping in the region.
Elsewhere, more than two dozen US troops have been wounded in Iranian strikes on a Saudi air base in the past week, sources have said, including 15 in an incident at the Prince Sultan air base in a Friday.
Strikes continued across the region overnight, including in Iran, Lebanon, Israel and Bahrain.
Israel has threatened to escalate strikes on the Islamic regime, while US President Donald Trump yesterday hinted he was considering sending troops into the region - something Iran warned would see them exact a heavy price.
Houthis confirm attack on Israel and say strikes to continue until 'aggression' ends
Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels have now confirmed that they launched an attack on Israel for the first time during the current Israeli-US war against Iran.
It marks their entry to the conflict and raises the prospects of a broader regional confrontation, as well as an increased threat to shipping in the region.
Israel earlier said it was working to intercept a missile from Yemen.
The group said the attack with a barrage of missiles came after continued targeting of infrastructure in Iran, Lebanon, Iraq and the Palestinian territories, adding that their operations would continue until the 'aggression' on all fronts ends.
On Friday, Brig Gen Saree, a military spokesman for the Houthis, issued a pre-recorded statement outlining several ways the rebels could join the war on behalf of Iran.
'We affirm that our fingers are on the trigger for direct military intervention in any of the following cases,' Saree said. They included the 'continuation of the escalation against the Islamic Republic and the Axis of Jihad and Resistance, as dictated by the theatre of military operations.'
The group has now said it will remain in the conflict until all its goals are met.
Israel targets Iranian nuclear facilities as Tehran warns of 'heavy price'
Israel struck Iran's nuclear facilities hours after threatening to 'escalate and expand' its campaign against Tehran on Friday.
Iran's Atomic Energy Organization said the Shahid Khondab Heavy Water Complex in Arak and the Ardakan yellowcake production plant in Yazd Province were targeted, IRNA reported.
The strikes did not cause any casualties and there was no risk of contamination, it said. The Arak plant has not been operational since Israel attacked it last June.
The Israeli military later said raw materials are processed for enrichment at the Yazd plant and the strike was a major blow to Iran's nuclear program.
Writing on X, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in response: 'Iran will exact HEAVY price for Israeli crimes'.
'At least two dozen' US troops injured in strikes on Saudi air base
More than two dozen US troops have been wounded in Iranian attacks on a Saudi air base in the past week, sources have said.
Iran fired six ballistic missiles and 29 drones at Saudi Arabia's Prince Sultan air base (pictured) in a Friday attack that injured at least 15 troops, including five seriously, people familiar with the matter claimed.
US officials initially reported that at least 10 U.S. troops were injured, including two who were seriously wounded.
The base had come under come attack twice earlier this week, including an incident that injured 14 US personnel.
Located about 96 kilometers (60 miles) from the Saudi capital of Riyadh, the base is run by the Royal Saudi Air Force, but also used by US troops.
Yemen's Houthis enter conflict with attempted missile strike on Israel
Yemen's Houthis are said to have fired a missile towards Israel early on Saturday, the first time the armed group would have entered the conflict.
Israel's military reported it intercepted the missile. Previously, the Houthis threatened to join the war if the US and Israel continued strike on Iran.
The possible entry to the war of the Houthis, who did not immediately acknowledge launching the attack, raises fears the rebel group backed by Tehran will again target commercial shipping traveling through the Red Sea corridor.
The Houthis have held Yemen's capital, Sanaa, since 2014, and so far had stayed out of the war as the rebels have had an uneasy ceasefire for years with Saudi Arabia, which launched a war against the group on behalf of Yemen's exiled government in 2015.
Attacks on vessels during the Israel-Hamas war upended shipping in the Red Sea, through which about $1 trillion worth of goods passed each year before the war. The rebels also fired drones at Israel.
