Luigi Mangione arrived in court wearing a sharp suit this morning as he fights to throw out bombshell evidence that could blow the UnitedHealthcare CEO murder trial wide open.

Mangione, 27, is in the New York City courthouse in an effort to block prosecutors from showing or telling jurors about items seized during his arrest at a yet-unscheduled state murder trial.

He is accused of shooting 50-year-old Brian Thompson at point-blank range in Midtown Manhattan on December 4, 2024, killing him before fleeing the scene.

The Ivy League graduate was arrested days later at a McDonalds in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Court officials say the hearings beginning Monday could take more than a week.

Eerie new images show Luigi Mangione's final moments of freedom

Newly-released images show alleged assassin Luigi Mangione's final moments of freedom before he was taken into custody.

The now 27-year-old could be seen in the photos wearing a dark jacket and a brown beanie while sitting alone in the corner of a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania on December 9, 2024.

The images - which appear to be still frames from body camera footage- then shows a group of police officers confronting Mangione, an Ivy League graduate, prompting him to pull down his mask.

Luigi Mangione allowed to wear civilian clothes

A federal judge ruled that the accused UnitedHealthcare CEO killer must be allowed to wear civilian clothes at his hearing this week.

'Mangione is currently housed in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and does not have civilian clothes to wear for the hearings,' his defense attorney Karen Friedman Agnifilo wrote in a court filing.

In November, Judge Margaret Garnett ordered the Bureau of Prisons to accept 'two suits; three shirts; three sweaters; three pairs of pants; five pairs of socks; and one pair of shoes (without laces)' and allow Mangione to wear those items when he is brought to court, ABC News reported.

Luigi Mangione fights to exclude bombshell evidence

Luigi Mangione, 27, is back in court today in a bid to block the Manhattan District Attorney's Office from showing or telling jurors about items seized during his arrest at a yet-unscheduled state murder trial.

Those items include a 9mm handgun that prosecutors say matches the one used in the December 4, 2024, killing and a notebook in which they say he described his intent to 'wack' a health insurance executive.

Mangione is facing charges in New York of murder in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon for the shocking point-blank murder nearly one year ago.

After getting state terrorism charges thrown out in September, Mangione's lawyers are now zeroing in on what they say was unconstitutional conduct that tainted his arrest and threatens his right to a fair trial.
