Lewis Capaldi is bidding to build a triple garage and office at his £1.6million Scottish farmhouse.
The star wants to erect a new outbuilding in the grounds of the rural property to house a collection of cars.
The Someone You Loved singer snapped up the pad four years ago after Ed Sheeran scoured the internet to look for a home for him.
However, after moving into the house on the outskirts of Glasgow, he discovered it smelled of cigarette smoke and dog and has described it as a hell hole.

Scottish crooner Lewis Capaldi got the green light to build the stunning swimming pool in the back garden of his £1.6m Glasgow farmhouse
Capaldi, 27, originally from Whitburn, West Lothian, has now applied for planning permission for a new two-storey building adjacent to the farmhouse.
Plans submitted to East Renfrewshire Council show the ground floor will have room for three vehicles and a workbench while the upper floor will be used as an office.
It will be built with sandstone and slate which will be recycled from existing farm buildings.
No date has yet been set for planning officials to make a decision on the proposal.
In 2022, Capaldi, who also has a home in London, was given permission to build an extension to the property which included a swimming pool, changing rooms, a spa and sauna.
His renovation plans also included a gym, media room, home cinema, an expanded master bedroom and a new kitchen.
In an interview last year, he joked he would need his second album to sell well so he can pay for the renovations.
He said: Lets put it this way, if this album doesnt go well I have a real issue on my hands.

People are turning me down. Im offering to pay the money and theyre like No, not for us, thats not the one.

Capaldi also joked he had been trying to get in touch with friend Sheeran after the singer said in an interview he would buy the house from him.
He added: I saw Ed saying he is going to buy it off me. Ive been chasing that man on email and nothing. I havent seen him since.
