Fox News tumultuous interview with Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris Wednesday evening received blockbuster ratings.
The highly anticipated primetime interview between host Bret Baier and Harris racked up over 7.1 million live viewers, according to the outlet.
That audience size means it was the most widely watched cable news interview of the 2024 election season, grabbing more eyes than any sit-down Donald Trump has done this year.
Trumps Wednesday town hall in Georgia, also with Fox News, only garnered 2.9 million viewers, although the ex-presidents event was at 11am and not the much more coveted 6pm slot as Harris sit-down occupied.

The FNC interview with Harris also far exceeded the viewership of CBS News 60 Minutes interview from only weeks ago.
That interview, which featured both Harris and her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, averaged 5.7 million viewers.
Baiers discussion also drew more viewers than the first joint interview with Harris and Walz held by CNN in August, which had 6.3 million tune in.
The sit down with Harris and the more conservative network bordered on hostile at times as Baier sparred with the VP about her policy decisions.
Near the beginning of the interview the Fox host sought to take her to task for President Joe Biden and her handling of immigration and border security.
She repeatedly asked him to stop interrupting her when he would probe her answers.

There were also tense exchanges about Harris stance on taxpayer-funded sex surgeries for inmates and illegal immigrants.
The former president applauded Baier and the network after the interview aired.
