Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha were booed Thursday evening after they arrived at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, DC to watch a symphony performance.
Protestors began booing after the Vances arrived at the auditorium
Both the vice president and the second lady ignored the boos and spoke to each other quietly. At one point, JD Vance sipped his wine and also smiled and waved at the crowd.
The Vances arrived just as the announcers were introducing the performance of the performance.
They ruin this place, booo! one protestor picked up on the audio yelled.

The booing subsided after the performance began and both JD and Usha remained for the entire concert.

Thursdays featured artist at the center was National Symphony Orchestra perform pieces by Igor Stravinsky and Dmitri Shostakovich. Greek violinist Leonidas Kavakos performing Shostakovichs Violin Concerto no. 2.
Washington, DC patrons of the center were disturbed after Trump announced his decision to fire all 31 trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts shortly after taking office.
Folk singers Nora Brown and Stephanie Coleman also protested from a separate stage on Thursday holding up signs to protest President Donald Trumps takeover of the institution.
After performing for about 30 minutes, the pair stood up and stood up cardboard signs that read, REINSTATE QUEER PROGRAMMING and CREATIVITY AT THE KENNEDY CENTER MUST NOT BE SUPPRESSED.
The crowd reacted positively, applauding the protest as the pair played “The Unicorn,” by country/psychedelic artist Peter Grudzien.
The folk performance was livestreamed on the Kennedy Center website.

The New York based duo has thrilled fans of bluegrass, folk tunes, and ballads with their performances.
There was audible noise between the performances as the crowd buzzed about the protest and kept singing some of their music.
At the end of their performance, the duo welcomed protesters on stage to hold signs and banners protesting the presidents takeover of the center.
