A Hispanic Democratic representative has slammed Joy Reid for shaming Latino Donald Trump voters.

Rep. Ritchie Torres, the rep for New Yorks 15th congressional district, made the remarks on X Monday night.

In a curt post, the Bronx native slammed the ReidOut star for a combination of what he framed as scapegoating [and] shaming - saying her patronizing style of journalism was only alienating the working class.

The president-elect emphatically beat Kamala Harris after being backed by 46 percent of all Latino voters in the country - the most by any Republican in modern history.

The result surprised some, as it saw Donald Trump increase his share of the demographic substantially since his loss in 2020. Factors like inflation and policies surrounding the border thought to be the blame. Reid on Friday insisted otherwise.

While 91 percent of black women voted for [Harris], 53 percent of white women overall voted for Trump, an unrepentant Reid began.

[This is] despite the open disrespect and demonization hurled by JD Vance and the Supreme Court stripping women’s bodily autonomy, courtesy of Donald Trump.

Also, Latino men, who - despite the utter disrespect shown by Trump and his promise to deport some of your mixed-class, mixed-status families - most of them voted in a 55 percent majority to make the deportations happen, she continued, mentioning planned policies.

You all voted with Stephen Miller and David Duke and against your own sisters who chose [Harris] with 60 percent of their votes.

Proceeding to speak to Latino men who voted Trump directly, the TV host said:  So you [better] own everything that happens to your mixed-status families and to your wives, sisters and abuelas from here on in.

The stark warning, aside from referencing the president-elects premade plans to commence a mass deportation of illegal immigrants, immediately earned Torress wrath.

A prominent progressive who assumed office in 2021, he tore into his fellow Democrat.

Stop scapegoating, shaming, and scolding working-class Latinos, the 36-year-old sniped.

A patronizing paternalistic progressivism will not attract working-class Latino men back to the Democratic Party, he continued, pointing to the demeanor thats seemingly become commonplace on MSNBC and CNN in the wake of the result.

It will repel them, he went on to insist.

A figurative storm of unsupportive replies to the liberal politician ensued - most claiming he had gotten it wrong.

I’m half Latino. My dad is Mexican, wrote one X user.

To those that voted Trump, f*ck them, they continued. You get what you voted for.

Another added: I am sorry, but no. You hear scapegoating. Sometimes you have to make people eat their crap.

I know people dislike being called out for their beliefs, the X user continued, but this is some hard medicine that needs to be consumed.

My best suggestion, he finished, is to push the conversation within your communities, because it won’t be as nice coming across ethnic communities this time.

Other responses offered more of the same, with several - some riddled with obscenities - saying Reid had been right to hand out the admonishment.

Few, however, brought up how Trump had promised to deport only those who have entered the country illegally - not those belonging to the sizable demographic that some consider to be the working-class backbone of the country.

That same cohort voted overwhelmingly for Trump this time around, after the Republican only snagged 32 percent of the same sample-set against Joe Biden.

Fast-forward four years later and the situation is decidedly different - even after a first term that saw the former commander-in-chief take a zero tolerance approach to illegal immigration.

This saw some parents separated from their children at the southern border, and earned Trump accusations of being racist as a result.

Despite these policies that appeared to target people with a Latino background specifically, Trump doubled-down on his anti-illegal immigration stance during his recent campaign

Earlier this year, the conservative declared migrants were poisoning the blood of the US at legal immigrants expense, blaming Harris and Biden for doing away with the policy he implemented after assuming office.

The migrant crisis, as a result, has continued - a phenomenon that seemingly swayed voters of all creeds, even Latinos.

A recent Siena poll conducted by The New York Times showed how Latino voters from states such as North Carolina and Pennsylvania - many of whom fled their countries of origin in search of a better life - appeared to take note.

It found that more than 40 percent of Latino and Hispanic voters continued support to build a wall, and saw 63 percent of respondents say they do not feel like [Trump] is talking about me when he discussed policies surrounding immigration.

Bidens - and therefore Harriss - failures there further fueled their belief that something more must be done when it comes to deportations and border scrutiny, as seen from the pronounced turnout from Latino Trump supporters a week ago.

The pairs failure to address inflation also proved decisive, said experts like University of Houston political science professor Jeronimo Cortina, who told Axios Thursday of Latino voters prospective mindsets, Latinos were saying, "I dont care what Trump says."

"I want to be able to pay the bills I want to be able to send my kid to college," he continued.

"I want to pay the mortgage, to afford a new car."

He went on to concede how he was still surprised by the magnitude of the shift seen since the election 2020, before pointing out how many Latinos - both men and women - belong to the working class.

Even inflation thats trending downward is still not good, he admitted, as many, like Reid, continue to question.

Her Friday rant, meanwhile, is just one of many seen from her in recent days, and saw her name figures like Stephen Miller and David Duke specifically.

Longtime Trump advisor Miller - the top mind behind Trumps mass deportation plan - recently received a promotion from the president-elect to be the White House deputy chief of staff for policy.

David Duke is the former leader of the Ku Klux Klan who Trump in 2016 refused to disavow.

Last month, he endorsed Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein, who is Jewish.
