MailOnline can reveal pictures of Nathan King working at King Charles 2,000-acre Dumfries House, in Ayrshire, when he was 17.

Nathan, now a 24-year-old pork salesman, stunned Big Brothers viewers last night by revealing his connection to the Royal Family in his introduction video.

The Big Brother star worked for a year at the stately home, serving the then heirs to the throne, Charles and Camilla, as well as VIPs such as the President of Ireland and Alan Titchmarsh.

Nathan has already been compared online to Prince Charming from Shrek, and his mother Sharon, from Ayrshire, fears his outspoken opinions will get him into rows before long.

But the only child has always made his parents proud, says his mother Sharon, 55, and she and her husband, factory manager Robert, were guests at the Big Brother launch in London last night.

Im dreading Nathan getting into arguments, Sharon told MailOnline. Hes very opinionated and his views are a bit different from most people his age.

He admires Nigel Farage, for instance, which is fairly unusual for a 24-year-old from our part of the world. Hes an old head on young shoulders.

For example, he listens to Radio Two and when Ken Bruce was hosting his show there, Nathan took part in the Popmaster quiz and scored about 26 points out of 39, which was really good going.

A lot of the music and the question were from times long before he was born, but hes interested in all that older stuff.

Sharon said Nathan only worked for a year at Dumfries House when he was aged 17, and since then has had a number of jobs, including his latest as a pork salesman at Browns Food Group, the same firm where she is payroll manager.

Nathan, who admits being a little bit in love with himself is a very confident young man, according to his mum, but still trying to discover what he really wants to do in life.

She added: Maybe the Big Brother experience will help give him a few answers. Im sure some of it will be unpleasant and you do get negative comments from people online, but were not going to worry about that, and Nathan himself is very confident for someone his age.

Hes very well known in our part of the world and everyone will be supporting him.

As a youngster, Nathan won poetry competitions which made his parents proud, said Sharon.

She said that after his job with the Royals, Nathan had been a mentor for younger people at schools in Dundee and had also worked in other sales jobs. At one point he spent a short time working for an MP in the Scottish Parliament in Holyrood, Edinburgh.

Sharon was guarded about Nathans personal life, but said he had just come out of a relationship with someone after five years but he doesnt tell us a lot about his love life.

At the time of his job working for the then Prince Charles, Nathan told a local newspaper: Ive had the honour of serving at a couple of dinners during His Royal Highnesss visits to Dumfries House. I very much enjoy being a butler here and theres always something very different to deal with.

Sharon said she and the family were sworn to secrecy about Nathans participation in Big Brother until the launch, and she had to tell a few white lies to get out of a charity event back home in Scotland to attend the BB launch.

Im expecting to get a bit of stick when I get back, she said.

She said she and her husband do watch Big Brother, but Nathans aunt on his fathers side, also called Sharon, had watched every series since it began and was over the moon about her nephew entering the house.
