The headmistress of a prestige girls-only high school has sent out a confidential letter stating that one of its students has been allegedly indecently assaulted by a staff member who has now been charged.
In a confidential letter on Thursday obtained by Daily Mail Australia, Roma Mitchell Secondary Colleges principal has written to all parents and caregivers of the schools 500 female students.
Writing, with regret to inform you that a staff member has been charged with indecent assault against a child, principal Toni Carellas sought to reassure parents.
The staff member is prevented from engaging in any child related work and has been instructed not to attend the school, she wrote.
Reporting that the staff member, whom Ms Carellas does not identify is a teacher or any other type of school worker, has left the school, she emphasises the need to protect the identity of the victim.
South Australian Police confirmed that a man has been charged with two counts of indecent assault in connection with the school.
