Cops seize six firearms, a Taser and $43,000 in cash after drill rap gang is busted with drugs and guns

Drugs, firearms and tens of thousands of dollars in cash were among the haul of items seized by police during raids on a western Sydney drill group.

Strike force detectives carried out 11 search warrants across the citys west on Tuesday and charged nine men and women between the ages of 22 and 39. 

During the searches, officers found six firearms, several hundred rounds of ammunition, $43,000 in cash, a taser and numerous encrypted criminal communication devices, which are prohibited.

They also seized 3kg of cocaine, 2.6kg of methylamphetamine, 644 grams of cannabis, and 126 grams of MDMA.

Of the nine, all but one faces a raft of charges relating to crimes associated with a criminal group.

Among them, a 25-year-old man, who was arrested in South Penrith, has been charged with a shocking 23 offences relating to the supply of drugs and firearms, and knowingly direct activities of criminal group.

Another 25-year-old man faces 15 offences relating to the supply and possession of drugs and firearms. 

Eight of the men and women arrested were refused bail to appear in Penrith Local Court on Wednesday.

A 28-year-old woman, arrested in Rooty Hill, was refused bail to appear in Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday.

Strike Force Cipolin was established in December 2024 by the State Crime Commands Raptor Squad to investigate the drug and firearm supply of members and associates of a drill group hailing from Sydneys west.

Prior to yesterday, police had seized five firearms and more than 800g of methylamphetamine as part of investigations into the group.

Investigations under Strike Force Cipolin continue.
